CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
———————————
My dad stands in the doorway of my bedroom, looking at me with a worried glance. My face scrunches up in pain from the constant stabbing feeling in my lower abdomen. No wonder, I had been so emotional these past few days and had craved cookie dough yesterday, it was because my period was due. He's scared of going to work and leaving me alone while I'm in pain, but I know he needs to work and I don't want to snap at him because than I'll feel bad.
"Dad, I'll be fine, just go to work." I tell him again.
He looks sceptical "are you sure?."
"Yes, I'll be fine, I've dealt with this every month for the last seven years." I explain.
"Alright." He says unsurely "well I should get going, if you need me call me and I'll come back straight away." He tells me and I nod my head, telling him I heard. He turns around and exits my room, leaving me alone in pain and bleeding a lot. After a few more moments I hear the front door open, indicating that dad has left for work.
I really feel like cookies. Luckily enough, I brought some yesterday, so I didn't have to go out and screw it not being my cheat day. I'm in pain and bleeding more than a woman should and if I want cookies, I will have cookies! I'll just run an extra hour when my period is over. I get up from my bed and exit my room before making my way down the stairs and into the kitchen.
There, I begin to make the cookies. I remove the cookie dough out of the fridge before grabbing a flat pan and baking paper. The finally thing I grab is a knife which I use to cut the cookie dough into suitable circles. With the pan of cookies in my hands, I put them into the oven I preheated before hand. Fifteen minutes passes by and the oven dings, signalling that the cookies are done. Using oven mittens, I open the oven door and remove the cookies from the rack.
I take the oven mittens off before grabbing a plate and putting all the cookies on said plate. The amazing smell of freshly baked cookies fills my nose and my acting stomach begs for me to devour them in one bite. The thought of these cookies being in my stomach causes me to immediately take my plate upstairs and into my room where I place the cookies on my bedside table before getting into bed. With one of my hands, I grab the plate of cookies and put them on my chest whilst I grab my laptop and put it on my stomach.
After turning on my laptop, I begin to watch YouTube. As I watch videos, I try to keep in my laughter since I didn't want the little person in my abdomen to hit me with their hammer more than it already was, I hated being a female. But I know my period is finally over, I'm going to the say the exact opposite.
"Sup princess." A familiar male says, climbing into my room through the open window, the open window my dad opened before he left because fresh air would help with the pain. His words not mine, but now he's allowed an annoying fly to buzz into my room also known as Mitchell.
"Get out of my room!." I shout in his direction as I pause the video I was watching.
"Don't get your bloody panties in a twist." He orders me and my eyes narrow at his choice of words as a questioning expression crosses my face "I have a younger sister and a mother princess, so I know when it's a woman's time of the month-." He explains, noticing my questioning gaze "and you also have a tampon wrapper on your floor." He finishes as he bends down. He then straightens up and in his hand is a tampon wrapper.
With flushed cheeks, I grab the wrapper out of his hand and shove it underneath my pillow. I must of forgotten to put it in the bin or I was too busy, it's probably the later. Mitchell chuckles at my flushed cheeks.
"Awww look at you red cheeks." He coos, pinching my cheeks "almost as red as your panties." He says and I groan out in annoyance. Is this what he come here for? Just to tease me and make horrible period jokes. I just want to eat my cookies and watch a bunch of YouTube videos of people doing funny, stupid or creative things.
"Why are you here?." I sigh, I just wanna be alone, but I can't have that at all.
"You weren't at school, so I wanted to make sure you weren't dead." Mitchell answers.
"Awww, you care about me." I tease him.
Mitchell snorts "goodness no, I just didn't want someone to beat me to the punch."
I roll my eyes, of course he'd threatened to kill me when I'm on my period "well at least you wouldn't have to worry about the blood part since all the blood in my body seems to be going to my panties." I mumble.
Mitchell chuckle "true, but lucky for you I don't want to go to jail." He says as his eyes go to the cookies on my lap "ohhh cookies." Mitchell says as he walks toward me before outstretching his arm to grab a cookie.
I hit his hand away he could "touch my cookies and I'll go from tinker-bell to the hulk real quick." I threaten him and he throws his arms up in surrender. I take a cookie from my plate and take a bite of the delicious treat "my cookie." I tell him with my full mouth. He rolls his eyes at my behaviour.
"Wow, you're grumpy, are you on your period or something?." He asks with a smirk "oh wait." He says as his smirk grows bigger and I groan out loud. The only blood that I'd have to worry besides mine is Mitchell's because if he says one more stupid period pun or joke, I'll be the one to kill him.
"What will it take to make you stop?." I ask him.
"Let me hangout with you until school ends, I don't want to go back and I can't go home incase mum's there." He answers and I hesitant to allow him to stay. I mean if it stops him from making stupid period jokes and puns than it's worth it right? Besides, I could use the company and I get to annoy him all I want, so that's a plus.
I groan "fine, but only until school ends." I tell him.
He smiles at me and ruffles my hair "thanks princess, you're the best." He says as he climbs over me to the other side of the bed. That's the first time I've ever seen him smile since all he's ever worn is a smirk, I'll admit I've seen worst smiles. When he's comfortable, I start the YouTube video and the two of us watch it.
"And I'll also be using crimson red-." The woman in the video explains, using her paintbrush to point to the red paint on her palette. Even though, I've painted for years, I enjoy expanding my skills and learning from others and besides, I enjoy watching painting videos; they're soothing in a way.
"Really? cause that looks more like 'period red' don't you think?." He asks, turning his head to look at me. I close my eyes at his stupid joke.
I wanna kill him.
