EPILOGUE
————————————
"Mitchell Preston!." Shouts the Principal into the microphone that's in front of him. After hearing his name, I clap as loud as I can and whistle an ear-bleeding whistle. Mitchell stands up from his seat before walking on to the platform to where Principal Blackmore stands, ready to hand him his diploma. From a few rows down, I hear Mitchell's family screaming his name, cheering him on.
Mitchell looks to me and gives me a small wink before bowing before the crowd, he than goes to stand with the line of graduates who's name was called out before hand. One by one, names are called and those students who are called stand up and go to the platform before receiving a piece of paper that's evidence of us graduating high school. Finally, after so many years, our years are done and we're taking flight into the real world.
"Faye Reynolds." When hearing my name, a big smiles takes it's place on my face as I stand up and begin my way up the steps that link to the platform. It feels like years when I finally reach the Principal, but when I do; I shake his hand and grab my diploma from his grip before standing with the other graduates. Mitchell turns his head to look at me from behind and I give him a wink like he did before as he gives me a smile.
Yes, Mitchell and I are dating, have been since that night in the park. That night we admitted we liked one another and I asked him out. He likes to tell me that he didn't want to be too clique since we already were, kinda. But I know deep down that he was scared of me saying no. So of course, I took the pants from him and asked him out, he said yes because if he didn't, I would of kicked him in his man area.
"I'm not asking you out." Mitchell stated with a smirk on his face "it's too clique, we're already clique enough as it is, I don't want to be extra cliche." He finished as he looked me in the eyes.
I raised my eyebrows at him "so what? We just don't date?." I asked him.
He shook his head "or you could ask me out, guys are always pressured to ask the girl out, but how come it's never the girl asking the boy out?." He said and I rolled my eyes at his stupidity.
"You're scared of asking me out." I stated as I gave him a smirk.
An offended look crossed Mitchell's face "I'm not, I just wanted to be asked out for once, I'm tired of doing it." He told me and again, I rolled my eyes at him. Out of all the boys in the world, it's him I have feelings for.
"Mitchell Preston, will you make me the happiest girl in the world and be my boyfriend?." I asked him sarcastically, but mentally begging him to say yes. A thoughtful expression crossed his face, he better not be seriously thinking about the question otherwise we would have some problems and he wouldn't be able to have children at all.
"I don't see a ring." He stated.
"Mitchell I swear, I will kick you in your man area." I warned him.
"Alright, alright." He said "I'll be your boyfriend if it makes you happy."
I rolled my eyes again.
"Congratulations to our graduates!." I'm brought back to reality when Principal Blackmore speaks, all the graduations including Mitchell and I, take our caps off our heads before throwing them into the sky; we've done it. The crowd before us raises up from their chairs and clap their hands, everyone has a proud look on their face as their look upon us. Goodness, I've graduated and I'm dating the boy I used to hate so much. It's strange how so much can change in only a short period of time.
My eyes meet my dad's and I give him a smile when seeing tears in his eyes. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for my dad, despite not being his biological daughter, he loves me and from his face, I can tell he's proud of me. I mouth 'I love you' to him and he does it in return, I can feel tears fill my eyes, but I desperately try to keep them in. I didn't want to ruin my makeup. Suddenly, I feel something land on me from above.
With raised eyebrows, I look up to the sky and see clouds rolling in, covering the once bright blue colour. Maybe it wasn't a great idea to hold the graduation ceremony outside, but it is what it is. Seconds later, rain starts belting down and soaking everything in it's way; well there's no doubt that I won't ever forget my graduation. Immediately, everyone takes their belongings and starts bolting for cover. But I, I try to find Mitchell.
"Faye!." I hear someone exclaim and I turn around, trying to find the source of the sound until my eyes land on Mitchell, just the guy I've been looking. He walks up to me before stopping right in front of me, I scan his face. Water drops fall from his eyelashes and his hair, it's clear that he's completely soaked. He looks up to the sky before looking back at me "haven't you always wanted to be kissed in the rain?." He asks.
I shrug my shoulders with a cheeky smile "maybe." I tell him "but I thought you hated me." I finish, looking into his blue eyes that make me fall deeper each time.
He releases a chuckle as he rolls his eyes "princess, don't you know to never believe rumours?." With that, his lips collide with mine and I return the gesture as I wrap my arms around his neck whilst his go around my waist. Even though people are rushing around us and the sky is crying rain, soaking us to the bone and giving us a higher chance of getting sick, we didn't care.
Already cliche enough, my butt!
