CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE

———————————

Inside the building, there isn't that many people which is great for me. The windows are covered, blocking out the natural light of the setting sun. However, there're lights on here, there're just dim, but I can still see everyone that is here. Luke and I go sit down and I thought Mitchell was following us, but sadly he wasn't which made me raise my eyebrows in questioning.

"Where's Mitchell?.' I ask Luke after we sat down.

Luke shrugs and doesn't say anything. I don't push it any further, instead I just look around the building in hopes of getting an idea of where we are. Tables are spread evenly around the room, some are containing people, but most of them are empty which is something I'm grateful for. At the front is a stage that has small lights lining the outline of the stage next to the stage is a DJ booth which is occupied by a male who appears to be sorting things out. In the middle of the stage is a mic and a stool, someone must of put them there.

"Are we at a Karaoke bar?." I ask when all of the pieces were put together in my head.

I see a small smirk spread across Luke's face "are we? That's strange." He answers sarcastically as he looks around with a look of fake surprise. I roll my eyes at his words, not amused by them. I honestly just wanted to go home and sleep; I didn't want to be here, but I didn't have the strength to argue at the moment.

"Where is Mitchell?." I ask again, looking around the room in hopes of finding him.

To answer my question, Luke points to the right of him. With raised eyebrows, I look to where he's pointing to see he's pointing to the stage, but not just the stage; Mitchell walking on to the stage with a guitar in his arms. What is he doing? Is this why we're here?

"How is everyone tonight?!." The DJ exclaims into the mic in his hand and the crowd cheers in response, the DJ chuckles "well I'm so glad you're all excited! But the night hasn't started yet, so let's begin, shall we?!." The crowd cheers again "To start us off we have a crowd favourite; the one and only Mitchell Preston!." The DJ exclaims into his mic, everyone in the room looks to the stage and claps their hands as Mitchell stands his stand in front of the mic. People shout Mitchell's name; he must come here often.

He awkwardly waves "hello everyone." He greets everyone in the room once the excitement dies down "um, so I have a friend here-." He pauses and looks to me; I smile at the fact he called me a friend "and she's been though a lot, so this song is dedicated to her." He finishes before he begins to strum the strings of his guitar. I sway to the soft melody of the song.

I didn't know he could play the guitar, but I must say he has a talent. However, my mouth opens in shock when he begins to sing. His voice is soothing and gives the song he's singing justice. On second thought, I'm glad Luke forced me to come here by asking Mitchell to force me out of bed by picking me up. Otherwise I wouldn't have seen this side of him.

It's different, but I like it. All I've ever known Mitchell to be was a huge jerk and a player who used girls like tissues and throw them away like they were trash, but I like this side. It's vulnerable almost like it's a side no one has ever seen of him unless girls have cause that's how he swept them off their feet. Or maybe not, maybe he kept this a secret and I'm the only one who's ever seen it. All the girls needed to fall at his feet were his good looks.

If girls found out about this, it'd be the icing on the cake. Once Mitchell finishes his song, everyone around me claps including Luke and I. I needed this, it kept my mind off of everything and that's exactly what I needed. The DJ says something into his mic, but I don't listen as my eyes watch Mitchell who's walking off the stage and coming toward us. Some people high five him as he walks pass and I'm pretty sure, I saw some girls wink at him. The icing on the cake.

"You did great man!." Luke says enthusiastically as he softly slaps Mitchell on the back when Mitchell slid beside him "I thought you were kidding when you said you could play guitar, but clearly I was wrong!." My best friend states as a shocked expression takes over his face and I roll my eyes at his reaction.

Mitchell turns his head to face me "what did you think princess?.' He asks with a smile. I like his smile, it's better then his smirk and it doesn't make him look like a hotheaded jerk.

I shrug "I've seen better." I lie, but he knew I was lying; I could tell from his smile that widened.

Mitchell rolls his eyes "in your dreams." He mumbles and a chuckle escapes my lips. Luke looks between the two of us with a smirk, I didn't like that smirk and I'm going to ask Luke about it later, but now was not the time.

I enjoyed tonight, but I'm not going to tell Mitchell that.
