48: Finally

Panic sets in and Steve looks around desperately. How long does the potion last?? He doesn't want to think about what will happen when effects wear off.

He looks back at the cliff where he jumped off. He could go there but Lai might still be up there...

Where is Herobrine in all of this?!

Lai stared at the lava, surprised that Steve had jumped. "No way.. she jumped... A human wouldn't be able to survive that.." She felt dread as she backs away slowly. "No... no.."

There's nothing to stop Herobrine from killing me..

Just when she was about to take off, she hears footsteps coming towards her from behind. She swallowed, trying to muster up the courage to look behind her.

"Lai..."

Lai can feel the intent emitting from Herobrine. She bites her lips before turning around to face him.

"What did you do?" Herobrine asked.

"She... she's not here." Lai answered. She held her chin up. "I looked around but I lost her somewhere in the realm." She added a smile, trying to make the story more believable.

Herobrine holds up something, glaring at Lai. "Are you sure?"

Lai looked at it, eyes widening as she realized it was a piece of the glass from the potion. "Wai-" Herobrine lunges forward, hands on her neck and slammed her down on the ground. She choked as she was lifted back up by the neck.

"Tell me the truth, Lai." Herobrine growled menacing. His grips tightens cutting off Lai's oxygen. Lai scratches on Herobrine's arm, struggling to breath. He loosens the grip and Lai started gasping for air.

She weakly pointed to a direction, coughing violently. Herobrine lets go of her but not before shooting a glare. Lai holds her throat, smirking. Too bad for you, Herobrine.

Herobrine traveled to the direction which Lai pointed. He can't waste time dealing with her. Steve.. He scoured the area around him, trying to see if Steve was on some land. He hasn't seen any sign of him at all.

"Steve where are you?!" He shouted. Herobrine landed on a larger land, looking around. "Steve?" There was no way he could got this far.. How could he travel over the lava..

He sat down by the edge of the land, trying to figure out where Steve could be. "Steve.." Herobrine held a hand to his foreward.

"Herobrine..?"

Herobrine jumped up and turn around excepting Steve to be there. "Steve?!"

There was no one behind him.

"Haha.. I've gone insane.. now I'm hearing his voice.."

"Herobrine, down here!"

Herobrine turn and Steve was there, his head poking out of lava.

Herobrine blinks, trying to understand what's happening. "No... no this can't be.." He drops to his knees and held his hands out towards Steve's head. "Steve... I'm so sorry.."

Steve blinks as Herobrine patted his head softly.

"You.. you're dead.. because of me.." Herobrine smiled sadly at Steve. "At least we're together again. A ghost relationship wouldn't be so bad."

Steve pushed Herobrine's hand away as he stepped onto land, frowning. "What are you doing?!"

Herobrine can see that Steve's body was in fact intact and not melted into lava. "Huh..?"

"Is that what you would say if I actually died?!" Steve opens his mouth again but Herobrine wrapped his arms around him. "He-Herobrine?!"

The two was in the same position for some time, glad to see each other again.

".. are you sure you're not dead?"

"Seriously?"
