Chapter 27

A drop of cheese landed on my chin, causing Alex to burst out in hysterics.

"Shut up dickhead" I laughed, wiping it off. He laughed along and I kicked him from underneath the seat.

"Ow!" He moaned while I laughed.

"Love you" I grinned.

"Love you too" He grinned back.

After dinner, I asked Alex to leave so I could set up the decorations.

I woke up and rolled over, facing a flat haired Alex.

I pressed my lips against his.

"Happy birthday you old man"

I whispered onto his lips, his forming into a smirk. I lay on his stomach as his hands lay on my bare back.

"When is everyone coming down?"

I rolled over and looked at the clock.

"10 minutes" I mumbled into my pillow.

"FUCK TEN MINUTES" I shot up, rushing to grab my towels. I ran into the bathroom, undressing and turning the water on. I jumped in and called Alex.

"GET IN FAGGOT"

"WHAT"

"GET IN THE SHOWER WITH ME"

"OK"

He jumped in and almost slipped, causing me to burst out into hysterics.

"Shutup" He laughed, holding the wall to help him get up. I grabbed the soap bottle and squeezed it all over his shoulders, he doing the same for me.

I slipped on my black ripped jeans, my black tank top and my red flannel, slipping on my white socks. Alex was dressed in his denim jeans and a plain white shirt.

"Could you get the mail for me?" I politely asked.

"Sure" He smiled, walking out. I quickly fumbled my phone out of my pocket and sent a text to everyone coming to the party today.

About 5 seconds later, they started piling through from the other side of the hedge, running inside and hiding. I quickly greeted them all and helped Breana put the cake somewhere.

Now all we had to do was wait.

He came in about 20 seconds later and put the mail down on the table. I cleared my throat and everybody jumped up from where they were.

"SURPRISE!" They all shouted. Alex let out a beautiful laugh and Hearst ran over to him, hugging his legs. Alex picked him up and swung him around, giving him kisses.

My heart melted at the sight of how gentle he was.

"Thank you all" He laughed, greeting each and every one of them.

Matt, Jamie, Nick, Miles, Katie, Kelly, Breana, Steve and some other friends of ours.

After a while, we went outside and Matt started up the barbeque, cooking some stuff I bought the night before. I slipped off my socks and threw them inside, then walking over to Katie and putting an arm around her.

"You ok?" I asked.

"Yeah" She smiled.

"Good" I smiled back.

We continued to chat for a while until everyone grabbed a plate with food and sat down.

"Be right back" She smiled, walking off to where Jamie, Matt, Nick and Miles where. She whispered something in their ears which made them smirk before coming back.

"What was it?"

"Oh nothing" She grinned.

"Sure" I smirked.

"Everybody put your swimmers on!"  Matt shouted from the other side of the yard, Katie and I rushed into my bedroom. I threw on my halter black bikini and Katie wore her flower patterned bikini, pulling on a pair of denim shorts. I decided to slip on my high waisted shorts and threw on my red flannel. I walked into the kitchen and pulled out a bunch of sweet and savoury foods, walking back out with Katie.

"Dig in guys!" I yelled, automatically they all scurried over, collecting food and hurrying back off. I walked over to a shirtless Alex who was talking to Matt, he too had his swim trunks on. I walked up behind him and snaked my arms around his waist.

"Hello" He said in a sing-song tone. I saw Matt smirking at him. I threw off my flannel and chucked it on the floor.

"What?" I looked at Matt. He then shrugged and looked at Katie who was giving him a thumbs up.

"You just reminded me of summat, that's all" Matt grinned.

"Oh yeah? And what would that be?" I smirked back.

"NOW!" He yelled, all the boys rushing over and pulling me off Alex. They lifted Alex up while the girls lifted me up. I kicked and screamed while Alex punched and laughed as they walked closer to the edge of the pool.

"Have fun in there" Kelly giggled, as she counted us down.

Claps, whoops, cheers and screamed were elicited from the rest of the party as we were submerged underwater. As my feet hit the bottom, I opened my eyes to see Alex's eyes open too. We were giggling like idiots underwater as everybody stood on the edge in their swimmers and watched. He cupped my face with his warm hand and another on my back, pulling me closer and pressing his lips against mine. It was only for a brief amount of seconds as we both swam up for a breath. Everybody clapped and cheered as I clutched my stomach in fits of laughter and everybody else jumped in.

"I love you" He cupped my face once more, the splashes of people jumping into the pool hitting us.

"I love you too" I replied as he placed a kiss on my temples.

I loved this life.

I have an amazing boyfriend and amazing friends.

Nothing could be better.

A vinyl of "Room On Fire" by The Strokes started playing as my face lit up.

I sang along to the first track, "What Ever Happened?" while on Alex's shoulders, my shorts still on. I giggled as Breana was taking photos of every moment that was beautiful on my polariod camera, laughing along as she did so. We all grabbed water guns and had a massive water fight which ended in a fight with me on Alex's shoulders, Katie on Jamie's shoulders, Breana on Matt's shoulders and Nick supporting Kelly who was also holding Hearst and carrying him while on Nick's shoulders. He was dribbling and giggling which made Alex burst out into fits of laughter, causing him to lose his balance and make me topple over.

"Yes! You lost!" Breana shouted, squirting me with the water gun.

"Not so fast!" I laughed, pushing her off Matt.

"Hey! We were going to win!" She yelled.

"Not anymore! Nor is Katie!" I yelled back. We both pushed Katie off of Jamie but then helped Kelly get down as she had Hearst with her. It all ended up in a splashing fight between all of us, minus Hearst who was picking at the grass on the side.

We all gathered around the table with Alex sitting at the very end.

Just then, the doorbell rung.

"I'll get it" I said, walking over. I was greeted by everybody in the band's parents and all the girls parents. They all scurried in and were greeted, Alex with the proudest, widest grin on his face. I put a little purple paper crown onto his head.

"I'm a king" He yelled.

"You are indeed" I smiled down at him, patting his head as everybody took a seat. I lit the candles and gave everybody a crown to wear.

I pressed 'record' on my iPhone while Breana took photos on my Polariod.

"3...2...1..."

Everybody started singing except for Hearst who was banging his hands on the table while Alex held them in his, playing with his tiny fingers.
