{Dahlia's POV}
••••••••••••••••••

Denny stayed true to his word. The next day, he dropped Barbie off at Julia's and then took me to get some ice cream before driving us over to the music lounge. Despite the fact that my brother, Billie's brother, and my best friend work here, I haven't been here in well over a year, probably. It's a shame too, cause the music lounge is really cool. It's basically just a record store. Super vintage vibe, but somehow seems futuristic too. It's comfy either way. I like being here. Problem is, Denny brought me to take my mind off of Billie. It was nice of him but it wasn't working.

"Put your head on my shoulder
Hold me in your arms, baby
Squeeze me oh so tight
Show me that you love me too

Put your lips next to mine, dear
Won't you kiss me once, baby
Just a kiss goodnight, maybe
You and I will fall in love
(You and I will fall in love)"

I twirled my gum around my finger as I used my foot to twist my chair back and forth, it squeaking with every twist. I pushed my sunglasses up the bridge of my nose every few seconds—They were too big for me and kept sliding down as I stared at the comic book in my hands.

I put my comic down and turned my head, tilting it down to stare at Finneas over the rim of my glasses after he tapped me on the shoulder. He ran his finger along the counter he was behind, checking it for dust before he leaned against it and sent me an odd smile. He rested his cheek on his fist and let out a small sigh. "Since you and my sister aren't together anymore, do you think you can tell me all her dirty secrets? I don't have much blackmail material left. I need to update my files, you know?" He asked.

"Dude!" Denny hissed as he walked by, slapping Finneas' shoulder. "Not cool!"

Finneas held his hands up in defense. "I'll ask again when you're feeling better...Do you think that'll be any time soon, or..."

"Here I thought you were the sensitive one." I rolled my eyes before turning to look at my book again. I only read for a few moments before putting it back onto my lap as the next song came on.

"Blue moon
You saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

Blue moon
You knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for

You're mine
And we belong together
Yes we belong together
For eternity

You're mine
Your lips belong to me
Yes they belong to me
To all me
For eternity—"

"Are you guys gonna play love songs all day?" I raised my brows.

"No, just 'til noon, why?" Finneas asked. Denny slapped his shoulder as he walked by once again, then grabbed the remote to change the music. The sound of heavy metal music filled the lounge and I sighed in relief. "Ah. Finally, some peace."
