••••••••••••••••••"—and if she even looks like she's about to get sick, don't hesitate to take her to the hospital! A single sneeze, and its time to head to the emergency room, got it?" Denny continued his hour-long speech as he rushed around, getting ready.
He fluffed his hair a few times before smoothing it back down, then he fluffed it again, then he smoothed it down again—that continued until he thought he had it perfect. He did some sort of weird smile in the mirror to make sure there was nothing in his teeth for the thousandth time, then pushed past me to pick up the humongous stack of papers he'd laid on the coffee table a while ago. He handed them each to me as he explained what they were.
"These are medical records, her birth certificate, and all her personal information, a list of nearby doctors in case hers happens to be busy, this is a list of every time she's ever gotten sick, how long the cold lasted, etc etc...What else? Oh, these are detailed instructions on how to perform CPR...This is a list of phone numbers—mine, Julia's, the police department's, the hospital, the fire department, Barbie's doctor, Julia's parents, the CDC...Don't look at me like that," He huffed as I raised my brows at him. "If you think she's catching a disease you need to call the CDC immediately!"
"Right." I mumbled.
"This is a list of her likes and dislikes—They're all important but let's go over some, okay? If you give her a bath, do not let it be longer than ten minutes because if you do she's gonna throw a fucking fit, alright? If she gets fussy any time around 3:47 pm, it's probably cause she wants to watch paw patrol or something. Getting fussy after 6 just means she's sleepy. And she only drinks juice out of her pink bottle and milk out of the blue one. Oh—and water out of the yellow one and—"
