{Dahlia's POV}

"What are your Valentine's Day plans?" I asked before grabbing another piece of bacon off of dad's plate. He sighed and slapped my hand away before sending me an annoyed look. "I thought you said you didn't want anything to eat?" He grumbled.

"I don't...I had my healthy breakfast earlier. I'm good." I rolled my eyes to myself as I thought about that stupid so called breakfast. A bowl of fruit that, while delicious, didn't keep me full for more than an hour. Next time I eat will be noon, though. I'm determined to stick to my diet!

A few pieces of dads bacon won't hurt though.

I decided to come over to his house since there was nothing interesting going on in mine. Denny had decided to come too.

"Open wide! Open wide! Good girl! What a precious angel she is, yes she is!" He cooed as he fed Barbie. She gurgled and smiled at him and I could swear I saw tears in his eyes. "Isn't she perfect!" He sniffled.

This guy's an emotional mess.

"You didn't answer my question about what you have planned." I reminded dad just as he was about to push some of his pancake into his mouth. He put his fork down and seemed to think about it for a few moments.

"I really don't have anything planned. Kinda forgot it was coming up. Barely even knew it was February." He chuckled.

I gasped. "But—That sucks, dad! You're supposed to be doing something special for Josephine! I mean, you guys aren't even married yet and you're already dropping the ball!" I huffed.

"She's right, broseph," Denny smirked as he grabbed dad's fork and shoved the pancake in his mouth. Dad glared at him before snatching the fork back. "There's plenty of food on the kitchen counter, just fix a damn plate—"

"No need for such hostile words, Joey," Denny chuckled as he held his hands up in defense. "I'm not even hungry."

He emphasized that by taking a sausage off of dad's plate once he'd turned to look at me. "I wanna do something special for her but I just don't have the time. Business has been crazy at the Doe Design Company and taking care of Bowie—"

"Take a day off to spend with Josephine," I sent him a stern look. "Plan out a really romantic date so that she doesn't regret agreeing to marry you just yet. I'd be happy to babysit Bowie!"
