PRESENT TIME
JENSEN HOUSEHOLD
THIRD PERSON'S POV

Justin Foley walked inside of the main house once he got back and got showered from work and noticed that only Clay was inside of the kitchen and rummaging through the fridge and the cabinets. Not sure what he was in search for, but then he noticed how quiet the rest of the house was.

"Where are the folks. . and Mimi?" Justin asked.

"Mom's at work. Dad took Imogen to a movie at The Crestmont, to pretend that life isn't happening." Clay said, closing the fridge as he turned around.

"Cool." Justin said, and then he took a deep breath. "So, Imogen. ." Justin trailed off a little, and Clay looked up at the mention of his sister's name. "Imogen told me you spoke to her." He said, and Clay sighed.

"Oh. . shit. Look, I'm sorry. I wasn't. .-I was just trying to help. I thought that maybe if she knew what was going on with you, maybe she'd understand." Clay said, and Justin nodded his head.

"You're right. I couldn't tell her, so I'm. . I'm glad you did." Justin said, and Clay nodded his head.

"Okay. Cool." Clay said, and as he turned to the food he had laid out on the table, Justin pulled out one of the chairs and took a seat.

"So, what. . What are you gonna do now?" He asked.

"I don't know." Clay said, and then the two boys heard a loud knocking on the door. They exchanged looks with each other, before Clay walked to the front door and unlocked it because the knocking wouldn't stop, but much to his surprise.

It was the Sheriff on the other side.

"Clay Jensen, we havea warrant to search your property." The Sheriff said.

"What? How is that possible?" Clay asked.

"Step aside or you'll be charged with obstruction." The Sheriff said, as he barged his way into the house. Upon seeing the cops, Justin stood up and looked at Clay.

"Fuck. . Don't say anything!" Justin said. As the cops searched the house, they put Clay and Justin in handcuffs and took Clay's phone, before continuing with their search of the house.

Clay was freaking out because his parents weren't home.

NEXT MORNING
IMOGEN'S POV

"They took all of our laptops. Clay's backpack." Justin was explaining to Mom and Dad. Apparently last night while my mom was at work and me and Dad were at the movies, the police came here and searched the place. I don't know why they needed my laptop. I don't do much on there, except watch stupid videos and tutorials on YouTube.

"And my phone." Clay said as Mom joined us at the table.

"And what. . if anything, will they find on your phone?" Mom asked him.

"A text to. . to Bryce." Clay said.

"Saying?" Mom asked.

"Saying. . Saying I wanna kill him. It was after Homecoming and everything, and I came home and I was sitting here and I was mad, that's all. It was just words. And. . I deleted them, but. ." Clay trailed off, which is good, I don't think he could really add anything onto that. Even if he deleted the text, they could still retrieve it.

"I will. . talk to Dennis this morning, and we will all sit down with him after school. And you talk to no one about those texts. Or anything to do with the case. All three of you." Mom said, looking at us, as my dad came and joined us at the table.
