"Come on, we need to go training," were Blayze's words just as he entered.
But I shook my head.
"Why not?"
"Because I'm busy," I replied.
My words made him scoff. "you, busy? With what are you so busy? Need I remind you that you're here only to help me kill my enemy."
"Yeah, yeah, I remember. But I am busy taking care of something that was supposed to be your responsibility but since you forgot, I, being the lovely wife, I am, took it in charge."
Blayze raised his brow towards me, his facial expressions stiff and stern as always. "I don't forget my duties."
"But you did," I pushed.
"Astrid, I am done with this stupid joke of yours. If you're trying to make up an excuse then you—"
"Uncle Blayze!"
Blayze's head snapped back at the little figure that came running towards him with a big smile. Soon, her tiny arms wrapped around his legs as he looked at her intensely.
"Talia, what are you doing here?"
"Mama, dropped me. You promised to take care of me because mama had to go away."
He bit his lip and scrunched his eyes together whispering a very, very low "Shit, I forgot."
But I still caught it.
He picked her up and, much to my surprise, kissed her cheek. "Sorry, I left you alone here, Talia."
She gave him a big, rosy smile and shook her head. "It's okay, Auntie Astrid was here with me and I had a LOT of fun!"
His eyes met mine and I gave him a tight smile. He looked back at her as he placed her down. "Well, I have to take your...uh, Astrid out somewhere. But don't worry Uncle Jackson will be here any minute so you can have fun with him."
She nodded like a good girl.
Blayze grabbed my arm and was dragging me out of the house when we heard Talia, waving at us, say, "Have fun on your date!"
From the corner of my eye I saw Blayze's vein twitch which made me smile.

We trained for an hour or two on moving targets. The irony was that I was better at this then at aiming at a target that wasn't even moving!
By the way, Blayze pointed that out.
My clothes were getting soaked with my sweat as the scorching heat and I was about to beg Blayze to give me a break when I heard a sudden yelp come from him. I tilted my head to see why when I saw him holding his waist... with his hands being covered by red.
What hap—how did this—" but before I could finish my rambling sentences, I was pulled down by him only to realize that a bullet just slipped past me.
Blayze helped me get up as he pulled out his guns aiming at the three men who were aiming at us.
Bang! Bang!
My ears hurt with the of the guns. My feet felt no ground under them, making my legs wobbly.
I never realised until today, what I had gotten myself into.
Blayze kept shooting as the men hid themselves behind any objects they could find, giving him the time to reload his gun.
He jerked me as we started running, taking out his phone and calling for backup. We reached his car when, from a distance, I noticed some armed men on their way. At first, I would have thought they were on our side but when one of them went and gave the hidings ones some equipment, I felt myself in a horrible mess.
"Do you know how to drive?" was Blayze's question for me.
"What, no!"
He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed heavily.
"You won't get out of here in time. Get under the car and stay there."
"But—"
"Astrid, I'm not your husband right now so I won't tolerate your arguments. I'm your boss and as that I order you to stay under the car until everything is over. Do you get it!"
I nodded reluctantly and slid under the car while I saw a few more cars stop around this one. Luckily, these were Blayze's men.

Staying there like was more horrifying than being a part of this......attack, battle? Whatever.
When you're in it, you tend to fight, kill, jump to the next, then fight, kill, save your life, repeat.
As for in my place, you see people kill each other, blood leak from bodies, injured or dead, down to the ground. It's filled with horror when you see them die, lying on the ground, panting in pain, yet you can't do anything about it.
I felt like a little girl again, locked up in a cupboard for my own protection but watching others get killed... just like I saw my brother die.
I wanted to scream but it would give out my hiding spot.
I wanted to vomit but I had nothing in my stomach to throw up.
I wanted to cry but those tears were of no use.
I wanted to help the injured but I could get killed in the process.
I wanted to run but there was nowhere to go.
I wanted this to stop but... there was no way out of this.
