"How farther away is it?" Aaron asked.

"It's just around the corner. A big mansion in the middle of a place where there is no sign of life isn't that hard to miss, you know."

It was night by the time we reached Blayze's mansion. My heart was pumping so loud that I could hear it in my hears. I needed to control myself when my home came into my view.

The lights of the house were all dimmed. Only a few turned on. I could see the light of Blayze's office still on which had blood pumping into my cheeks.

We all were exhausted from the thrills we had already gone through earlier in the day. I just hoped it would be easier to get to Blayze after all of this.

But I guess I should've known better, especially when we all were injured and bloodied.

"Hey! Get out of the truck, you're in a restricted area, how did you enter this place!?"

"Uh. . . we drove in?" Rex replied.

"That can't happen! How did you—"

The rest of his words died down when Aaron hit him on the shoulder with the back of his gun. "He was asking too many questions."

That attracted the other guards that surrounded the area, making me agitated. "You know, patience is known as a moral value for a reason."

"I don't have any morals," was the reply as he loaded his gun and aimed at the men.

"No wonder why I liked this guy," Austin chimed in. shooting at his own targets.

Rex took the lead, running towards the house that was farther away and breaking down the door of the house while the rest of them fought outside.

I knew the patrol routine, no man apart from family was allowed inside the house unless there was something important to inform. But at the very moment, all of them were too occupied to do that.

I followed my brother inside the house after I got rid of the man who was chasing me. I ran towards Rex only to find him face to face with Jackson.

Both held their guns pointed at each other, daring the other to make the first move.

"Rex, no!" I exclaimed, knowing my brother would not hold back in pulling the trigger.

Jackson's forest gaze landed on me and for a moment his grip on his gun loosened, not being able believe that I stood in front of him.

"Astrid. . .?" he whispered more like to himself.

"Jackson, it is me. Please, don't shoot. I know that you're mad and all but let me talk to Blayze, I need to see him. Please don't shoot, he's my brother."

Jackson's gaze shifted from me to Rex and then back at me. "I don't—I don't understand. . ."

But he didn't complete whatever he wanted to say, dropping his gun and rushing towards me as he pulled me into an embrace.

"God, I missed you Astrid. Blayze's been a mess without you. He's been worse that his usual self. You need to go see him."

I nodded. "Please call of your guards, Jackson. Their going to either die or kill the ones who helped me come here."

With that, I rushed upstairs, sprinting towards the study and slamming the door open.

In front of me, Blayze sat on his chair in front of his desk, crease lines forming on his forehead.
