Sebastian didn't bother me about the ear thing for the rest of the time I was healing. Sure, he occasionally petted and caressed it, but nothing more. He even started to read me a book.
I guess that Ciel forced him to after I told him about my boredom.
The Phantomhive boy came and visited me every once in a while when I was awake, which was nice. Sebastian eventually gave up on trying to force him out. His stubbornness surprised me.
We talked about how I was doing and went into deeper detail about my abilities as his personal thief. My jobs would start small and grow, unless an opportunity arose that Ciel felt he couldn't pass up on. During these conversations though, I was completely tied down to the bed, all the way up to the neck. Sebastian was incredibly protective when it came to Ciel, I noted, and the demon didn't trust my other half's appearances for even a single second when Ciel's was around.

Two weeks later, I was up and moving normal-ish again. Ciel had ordered Sebastian to take off my cuffs, belts, and blinder once I felt like a normal enough human being. I had to use crutches for support as I walked around, which was a pain in the ass, but at least I was able to move. The demon butler followed me wherever I went, helping me and watching me with his sharp eyes.
One day, after finishing reading a book on demonkind in the lounge, I asked Sebastian, who was reading on Italian Cooking techniques, what kind of demon he was.
He merely raised an eyebrow, ignoring me. I pouted. Stingy as ever.
"You can have my other ear," I said, "If you tell me about yourself."
"..."
"..."
Oh my God what did I just say.
"I take it b-"
"You'll want to be careful with what you offer to me, miss Eve, but I accept your offer," he closed his book and set it to the side, standing up quickly. I stood with him, grabbing my crutches and putting them under my arms. He sighed and scooped me up with one arm, the crutches falling to the floor.
"I hate those things," he said, "They're awfully noisy."
"I do too, but what can we do? You poisoned me, remember?"
He didn't reply, instead grabbing a blanket off the back of one of the lounges and wrapping me up in it. I raised an eyebrow as he started walking, taking us outside. Ah, that's why.
It was pretty chilly now, getting closer and closer to winter. I held myself closer to him as we sat on the back porch, seeking warmth.
"Why're we outside?" I mumbled into his coat.
"Because Ciel will not come out here and interrupt us."
"Hmm," I nodded.
We were silent for a few moments before Sebastian spoke up, "What are you waiting for? Ask your questions."
"Oh, um, right," I thought and before asking, "What hierarchy of demon are you?"
"I serve under Lord Satan, who you humans have classified as the Demon Lord of Wrath. In his realm, I am seated between the upper and middle courts, and after taking Ciel's soul, will ascend to the upper court."
"Is Ciel's soul that important?"
"It is. I will not go into the details now."
