As soon as I shut the door to my room, I felt the cat sith manifest again.
"Someone's eager," I mused as I closed the door.
"I am. But I will wait for you to be ready."
I nodded, "Alright. I'll get ready for bed then."
The cat sith nodded. I clucked my tongue and walked over to the wardrobe, putting on a white nightgown. I then went downstairs to the kitchen, grabbed a glass of water, and made a quick stop at the bathroom. Once everything was set and done with, I went back into my room and closed the door behind me again.
"You're nervous," he stated.
"Not terribly," I said as I walked over to the bed and set the water glass down beside it.
"You fell in the hallway and splashed your face with water several times. That's four times more than usual. You also broke a glass in the kitchen."
I shrugged, "Okay, maybe just a little."
"You don't have to worry about anything."
I nodded, "I know. It's just like entering a dream, right?" I took a deep breath before climbing onto the bed, shifting my blankets and getting under them. The cat sith sat on my pillow. I turned and stared at him hard for a few moments before he got the idea and moved.
"I'll be needing my own pillow," he said.
I chuckled, "Sure." I laid back and shifted a few times before settling back-down in bed. I then closed my eyes and waited, biting my lip. The cat sith climb on top of me, its weight pressing down one paw at a time. My foot started tapping nervously. The cat sith circled three times on top of me before laying down.

"You're never going to get to sleep if you keep tapping your foot like that," he commented.
"You're right, you're right. I'm sorry," I stilled my foot, making my body stiff as a board.
The cait sith's tail sneaked out and gently brushed against my skin, "Would it help if I told you a story?"
"I'm not a child."
He chuckled, "I didn't say you were."
"...then yes, please. If you don't mind."
"You'll go right to sleep with it. I promise."
"Just tell me it."
"Someone's eager."
I smiled slightly, "Maybe."
"Okay. This is a story that happened several generations back. It starts, like most stories, with once upon a time. Long, long ago, a new Cat King came to rule. She was the third of her kind, and much like the previous Kings, noble, wise, and generous. One day, as she was traveling through her countryside, she came to a human village."
"Wait, the King of Cats is female?"
"The position can be granted to either male or female cats. The only real requirement is that they be seen as a noble, honorable, and wise leader."
"I see."
"At the outskirt of this village was a young girl playing with her kitten. It was a small, orange thing with a single brown paw. This in and of itself is a strange sight to see, as orange cats are orange cats and brown cats are brown cats. Having a mix of the two colors is strange.
"Interested in the small kitten; the King of Cats watched the two play for a while longer. She loved the gentle way that the girl handled the kitten and petted it, and the way that the kitten loved the girl back. It all seemed so peaceful. But then, the girl left and went off to find her parents.
