"Resort! Resort! We're so happy!"

Our two carts ambled across the British countryside as we headed out to Houndsworth. The sky above was overcast, grey, and threatening rain. The hills around us rose and fell, occasionally revealing farm fields or a flock of sheep.

In the first cart were Sebastian and Ciel. Sebastian had the reins and was driving two chestnut horses along as Ciel sat quietly in the back.

Behind them were the rest of us servants. The excitement on the three's faces when they heard that we were "going to the Queen's resort" was absolutely priceless, and all of their bags were ready to go within two minutes after finding out. They were excited about "finally getting a break" and "having fun for once in their lives."

Naturally, Ciel's word choice was a little more than off regarding that actual nature of our vacation, but when I'd gone to correct the wording, Sebastian stopped me. I guessed he didn't want them to know.

I felt bad. The three idiot's hopes and dreams were about to be smashed by this trip.

"Resort! Resort! We're so happy!"

They'd been singing this on and off for the last half hour, only interrupting themselves to talk energetically about everything that they were going to do at the "resort."

"Isn't this wonderful, Mey-rin? I'm so moved!" Finny excalimed.

"Yes, yes!" she agreed, "I can't believe he's taking us with him to the Queen's health resort!"

I went to open my mouth but felt a cold glare being shot at the back of my head. I turned and looked to see Sebastian looking back at me, eyes sharp. I quickly shut my mouth and looked back at them.

"I guess even the young master has his good points!" Bard said, a cigarette dangling from the corner of his lips.

"Yes!" The other two exclaimed.

I really did feel sorry for them.

The carts pulled up alongside a sign. I turned and sat up in the cart reading it out loud.

"Welcome to... Houndsworth..." I paled slightly. A dark crow and a dog's spiked chain collar sat on top of the sign. The crow's eyes sparkled dangerously, as if daring us to enter.

"This would seem to be the entrance to the village," Sebastian explained.

"Appears so!" I started as I was suddenly tossed backward in the cart as it shook violently. When I recovered, I looked up to see the three eagerly looking over the cart's edge at the scenery beyond.

Smiles quickly turned to shock. I stood up and looked over their shoulders to see a huge tree with hundreds of similar dog collars dangling down from it. And at the roots of said tree, a sea of dog's skulls.

The three screamed and scrambled back into the cart, tucking their tails between their legs. Or at least, if they had tails, that's what would've happened. My tail was fine though, I felt it sitting nicely on the bench beside me.

"I forgot to tell you one thing," Ciel said, his head turning back to look at us, "This is the planned construction site for the resort."

"Young master..." the three said despondently. Finny and Bard started crying, and Mey-rin looked like she was still riding off her waves of shock. All of their shoulders were slumped.

"Ho ho ho," Tanaka said. At least he was normal.

"Hey! I found the first villager!" Finny exclaimed, turning to look at the road as he pointed a finger out. Apparently, he'd recovered the quickest.
