Royce eventually stopped, setting me down in the middle of a forest. I didn't even bother looking around, instead jabbing my finger into the cat sith's chest.
"WHAT THE BLOODY FUCK?!" I yelled at him. Several birds above us erupted out of the trees, running away. "Where the fuck are we even?! I told you to take me to London, and this clearly isn't London! Not to mention, I told you several times to stop along the way so I could breathe, but did you? NO! You just kept running, so fast and without any regard to my health. So much so that I almost bloody FAINTED when you hit my head against a fucking BUSH! Did you you want me to do that? Did you want me to faint? Or maybe you wanted me to DIE?! Cause it sure seems like it! I swear to God, that if anything you do winds up killing me, that I swear that I won't let that fulfill the terms of the contract. Do you understand? This contract is cancelled if I die by your-"
"Ev-"
"SHUT UP! I'm not done yet!"
He didn't say anything.
"Hmph," I said, "You don't actually have anything to say, do you? Maybe you are just a greedy demon after all. Maybe I should start acting like you are one, instead of trusting you like I do. Maybe you just want to eat my soul, and that's why you're so nice to me. You disgust me right now."
"Eve. We literally just ran across Britain. I don't understand why you're so upset."
"Even so."
"We. Just. Ran. Across. Britain. Please. Calm. Down."
"...you ran us across the whole British island? To the north?"
"More or less."
"...to Ireland?"
"I think so, yes."
"Where there are thousands of people just waiting to kill a lone Brit if they were given the chance?"
"..."
"And now we're in a forest surrounded by wolves and beasts and other deadly magical creatures that wound sooner drain my virgin blood than let me live?"
"Oi, I don't know about that last part."
"That makes me feel so much better. Thank you for that information."
He went to speak before turning around, walking away, huffing.
I blinked, "Wait, where are you going?"
"To town."
"Are you leaving me here?"
"Yep."
I looked around slightly panicked, "B-but, Royce!"
He ignored me, continuing forward.
"Royce!"
He ignored me again.
"Royce!" I ran after him, grabbing his arm, "Please don't leave me by myself. I know you're not a bad person. I can read your thoughts. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I don't want to get eaten by monsters."
He sighed again, looking back at me, "My feelings are quite hurt, Eve. What will you do to make up for it?"
"Anything."
He raised an eyebrow, "Anything?"
"Yes."
"Are you sure? Anything?"
I nodded affirmatively, "Yes."
"Then quit your job at the Phantomhive Estate."
I froze, "Wait, so you weren't joking about that before?"
