Demon... Demon...

Demon dog... DEMON DOG...

HELL! DOG! HOUND! DEMON!

VERMIN OF THE EARTH!

Kill... KILl... KILLL!

I jolted awake, sweat dripping down my face as I broke out of the dream. I blinked and shook my head, trying to clear the dream's sensation away.

I was standing in front of my door, with my door knob partly twisted. Surprised, I yanked it away and held it to my chest, wondering why on earth I was out of bed. I felt something my hair shift slightly and raised my hands up quickly to feel whiskers retreating from into my face.

What. Whiskers? What? There's no way that just happened.

I turned around and walked over to the curtains, peeping outside to see the faintest hints of dawn peeping over the horizon. Yeah. It had to be a figment of my imagination, that's all. No whiskers. I'm just imaging things, it's early and I'm just coming out of a scary dream, that's all.

I sighed and shook my head again before walking out of the room. There was no way I was getting any more sleep. I thought about what to do for a moment before wandering over to Sebastian's room. Twice, I knocked, knowing that the man never actually slept.

He opened the door a few moments later, his eyes widened slightly with surprise. I looked up at him, flashing a weak smile. A flash of concern passed over his face and he pulled me inside, closing the door behind him.

"If I may say, you look terrible Eve. What happened?"

I sighed and dropped my head down on his chest, "I think it was a bad dream."

He wrapped his arms around me and held me close, one hand coming up to stroke my hair. It felt right and good, setting me at peace, unlike the uncomfortable sensation I'd had when Angela did it earlier.

I hummed slightly and buried my face into his chest.

"Did you want to tell me about it?" he said.

I thought about it for a moment, "I don't know. I suddenly woke up in a terrible sweat, standing in front of my door ready to open it. Someone was saying something about killing something, I think. Maybe?"

Sebastian's hand held me tighter then, "Did the person have a presence?"

"I just know that it was very malicious, demanding blood."

"So it was your cat sith."

I looked up at him, eyebrow raised, "Why do you say that?"

He chuckled, "That's what your spirit is, kitten. A very malicious, greedy cat spirit who hats dogs just as much, if not more, than I do."

"Wait, so there really is a demon dog?"

Sebastian nodded, "And based off of your reaction, I'd say that it was either very close or something had happened which enhanced its presence and revealed it to your cat sith."

I frowned, "So, I could've just died. Fantastic."

He smiled, "I would've come to rescue you. Trust me when I say this, your creature does not know how the definition of the words be quiet. I would've heard its screeches as soon as the battle began and been there instantly to rip the fighting creatures apart before you died."

I sighed, "I really need to get a grip on this thing. First the headaches, and now this. And then all the times when I was injured and wounded you..." I sighed again, "Oh and also, maybe, do I have whiskers?"
