"Young master, I thought you told me that you were going to be taking care of some trifling business," Sebastian remarked, crossing his arms as he leaned back against the window sill.
"Indeed. Imagine to my surprise as I was just about to jump the Thames, only to feel my power suddenly called on," Royce said, mirroring his stance as he looked down at me.
Sebastian continued, "Was that "business" to dotingly savor your wretched past and wallow in the pleasures of humiliation?"
"Or to recklessly ignore the dangers that haunt your dreams at night, thinking that only an unreliable mutt and reaper are enough to protect you?" Royce commented.
Sebastian raised his hand, tilting it to the side, focusing on Ciel "Didn't you say at the frost fair that your body and your ring had already been shattered and reborn? That you were far past being afraid of shattering?"
Royce looked at me, "And why do you push yourself so much to protect this boy? Is it because you're worried about losing him like lost your own parents when they banished you from the house?"
"That's right," Ciel said, frowning, "Don't recite my words back to me."
I clenched my fists, "This is my family now, and Ciel is an important part of it. What happened back then doesn't matter."
We had a moment of glaring at each other before-
"Build it up with iron and steel, iron and steel, iron and steel," the ringmaster's voice suddenly sang out. Ciel and I dashed to the middle of the room, preparing for the worst.
"Build it up with iron and steel, my fair lady."
There was another moment of silence before the doors slammed open, crashing into the wall as a small army dolls girls marched into the room, completely expressionless.
Ciel stuttered, surprised, "W-Was Grell defeated?" At the front of the army were the five girls from the lower levels.
"He is an unreliable reaper, after all," Royce said, standing up and gliding behind me.
"I see..." Sebastian said, walking to stand beside Ciel, "So he is controlling them with his tone, is he? In that case..."
Royce picked me and Ciel up, jumping to the back of the room as Sebastian clasped his hands together.
"Iron and Steel will bend and bow, bend and bow, bend and bow," Sebastian sang, "Iron and Steel will bend and bow, my fair lady."
"Huh?" Ciel and I said, jaws dropping in surprise. The dolls stopped then, bobbing their heads back and forth with Sebastian's song.
"You two stay here, 'kay?" Royce said, smiling cattily at Ciel and I before jumping forward with Sebastian. The two leaped into the middle of the doll swarm, and in rhythm with Sebastian's singing, ripped off the doll's heads.
"What the..." I commented, incredulous, "They're just..." I lifted my hands, pretending to rip a doll's head over.
"Sebastian can't sing?" Ciel asked, blinking.
"I mean... ravens don't have pretty voices?" I tilted my head to the side, making the ripping motion again.
"Iron and Steel will bend and bow, my fair Lady," Sebastian finished off the last doll's head before the two walked out from the now headless army, kneeling before Ciel and I.
Ciel glared, "Who are you calling a lady?"
The dolls fell over one by one behind the two demons then, clanging when they hit the floor. When all had fallen, Sebastian and Royce stood again, extending their hands out to us.
