Peter wasn't in his room.
Stark had made him a tea and just wanted to bring it to him, but the room was empty.
Maybe he was still with their wounded god. So he closed the door Sighing and walked in the opposite direction.Breakfast was over for three hours now, and Stark has told the boy to go to bed after visiting Loki. Then a horrible thought hit his mind.
What if something happened? Maybe Loki lost his temper and attacked the boy, or -
No. He had to stop with these accusations. These thoughts were the main reason they now had two instead of one person to care for. If he could just stop his doubts against the former villain...Finally he arrived at the operation room and knocked on the door. No answer. He didn't realize he was sweating until he tried to open the door and his hand slipped off the door handle because his palm was that wet.
As he managed to open the door, his fear grew more.
The room was empty, too.Slowly the fear mixed up with anger. Were they playing a game with him?
At that moment he heard the coughing of Peter from the end of the floor. He walked down the floor to the door the coughing came from. This room was some kind of living room where Peter loved to be because of the large windows which, especially in winter, showed a beautiful scenery. The door was slightly opened so he could open it without a sound.
As he saw the two he felt like the most evil person in the world for thinking Loki could have killed or injured the boy. Both were sitting on a large window sell, Peter wrapped in two woolen blankets, both if them having a cup of, what he supposed, hot chocolate in front of them. They were playing some sort of board game.
The whole scenery looked so peaceful, well, except for Loki's injured leg. Stark heared them laugh, Peter's laugh was light but sounded still sick, while the one of the god was more raspy and shallow.
Stark was just about to leave again as Loki looked up and smiled at him. "Come in!", he offered, "If you want you can join us."
A few minutes later they all sat around the couch table and played games, laughed and drank their hot chocolate or, in Stark's case, tea.
As Fury walked down the floor an hour later he first couldn't believe his eyes, but then he just shook his head with a slight hint of a smile on his face and walked away.
"Mr. Stark?", Peter asked with big, hoping eyes, "Do you think I could spend Christmas here with y'all? It's only one month left, and it will be Mr. Loki's first Christmas."
The man looked at the boy, a sad smile appearing on his face. "Well, we usually don't celebrate this holiday here..."
"But Mr. Stark, we have to! Mr. Thor didn't celebrate Christmas as well, you wouldn't have anything to do! Mr. Loki, his brother and me would plan everything, I promise!"
Stark laughed and finally agreed. "But remember that both of you are still weakened. Oh, and remember that Clint and Nat will be there, too."Loki nearly dropped his cup. "Y... You mean Agent Romanoff?!"
Then Stark realized what that meant. Clint and Nat were both on a mission and would come back in a week. They both had no clue Loki was here.
