Meg's pov.
I really, really liked Kayla. I tried to make her as welcome as I could.
Milo changed and climbed into bed, but I didn't."Coming to bed, Baby?" He asked, patting the bed next to him.
"One second. " I said holding up a finger.I walked down the hall, passing the bathroom. Kayla's bedroom door was cracked, indicating that she had come upstairs, since we did. I rapped on the door, twice.
"Come in." I heard her call.
" Hey, it's me. " I came in, partially closing the door behind me.
"Oh, hi Meg." She closed the journal she was reading and sat it on the bed next to her .
"How are you liking it here? Better than the foster home, I hope." I smiled, sitting at the foot of the bed.
" Yeah, it's good. Gonna take some time to adjust, though." She shrugged.
"I can understand that." I said, before changing the subject. "What's this?" I motioned to her journal.
" Nothing much. My mom gave it to me when I was a baby, before she put me up for adoption. Every night, since I was old enough to use it, I wrote a little entry in it. It's almost full though," She explained.
"That has a lot of sentimental value, then, doesn't it?" I questioned.
"Definitely. " she nodded, tears began to form in her eyes.I could see she was upset.
"Out of you, Milo, and Camryn, so far, I feel as if I have the best connection with you." She admitted.
I smiled, "Well, thank you.""My mom...She was actually just a few years younger than you when my brother was born." She wiped a tear away. "Gosh, I really, really, miss her. "
"I know, Sweetie, I know." I embraced her in a hug, right before she let the tears fall.
"It's just not fair!" She sobbed into my shoulder.
"I know, life isn't fair. But, you have a great new family and we will love you forever. " I comforted her.She cried for a few minutes, before she wiped her tears and changed the subject.
"Where's Milo? "
"In bed." I answered, pulling back from her.
"Oh." She said.
" I'd better go to bed, now. He's probably waiting for me...If you need anything, both Milo and I are right down the hall. " I assured her, before turning around to see Milo standing in the doorway.
"And then again, he might be right here..." I couldn't hide my surprise.
"How long have you been standing there?" Kayla asked, nervously.
"Not long," He shrugged, coming in, to wrap his arms around me, from behind.
"Okay, Kayla, are you okay if we go? " I asked, pinching Milo's side, as he kissed the side of my neck.
"Yeah, I'm okay." She nodded, before we left her to finish writing in her diary in peace. We got to our room and shut the door behind us. Milo embraced me and kissed me, softly.
"Thanks you." He pulled back, just long enough to speak.
"for what?" I smirked, against his lips.
"For making my little sister comfortable." He grabbed my waist and pulled me to him.
"It's no problem. I wish she was more comfortable around your mom, though. Camryn wants so badly for this to work out." I shook my head.
"It'll all work out. " He sighed, kissing my forehead.
"I love you, you know that?" I shut my eyes against his kiss.
"I do. " He nodded. "And I might love you, just a little bit." He grinned.
"Shut up." I mumbled, crawling into bed, as he laid beside me.He didn't say anything, just smiled at me and draped one arm across my body. I rolled my eyes and curled up next to him, burying my face in his now bare chest. It wasn't long, before I drifted off into dream land.

Not three hours later, I was woken. Kayla came tip toeing in. Milo was just waking up when she shut the door behind her."What's up?" Milo asked, groggily.
"I'm scared." She admitted, softly.
"That's okay." Milo said. " You wanna come sleep with us? " He invited her.She looked at me, kind of scared.
"Yeah, come on, Kayla." I scooted over, making room in between us.
"Okay." She crawled over Milo and in between us.
"What's wrong?" I whispered to her.Milo was facing us, but he seemed pretty out of it. One of his arms were under Kayla and I. His hair was tousled and seemed tired. To say the least, he looked hot. I smiled at my boyfriend and focused back on Kayla.
"I just had a nightmare about my mom." She was shaking.
I wrapped her in a hug. She buried her face in my chest.
"Meg, am I going to go to school tomorrow?" She asked me.
"I know Camryn enrolled you in public school. I'm not sure when you go." I told her.
"Okay. " She snuggled up under the covers.I waited for her to fall asleep, before falling asleep myself.
I've been working on this story for a while, before I published the first chapter. I have a lot of chapters done, but I'm trying to decide when to publish them all.
