October 2020

Miranda's viewing and funeral were probably two of the hardest things I had ever had to do. But, we got through it and besides, that had been almost five months ago.

Milo and I were getting ready to go on a surprise date he has planned. He won't tell me what it is, he just told me to dress warm. Camryn's home and Kayla has been happier than I've seen her in months and it really warmed my heart.

"Milo," I complained, "Why can't you tell me what it is?"
"It's a surprise," He winked and went back to digging through the closet for an outfit.

He had told me to dress warm, and not necessarily nice. So, I had gone with a pair of jeans and a cute sweatshirt. I curled my hair and let the princess curls bounce around my face and on my shoulders. I didn't forget a neutral face of makeup.

"Are you almost done?" Milo asked, wrapping his arms around me.
"Let me put my ugg boots on and I will be," I laughed, standing up.

Milo stopped the car in front of a haunted house, and smiled at me, knowing how much I loved scary things, until we actually got inside and then would be literally peeing my pants, because I was so scared.

"Really?!" I asked excitedly and hugged Milo.
He chuckled, "Yeah."
"Thank you! You're the best fiance ever!" I exclaimed.
"But, you already knew that, before," He bantered.
"Of course," I rolled my eyes, playfully.

We got out of the car and paid at the gate, before we were ushered inside.

Everytime something would grab at my feet, I would shriek and if Milo didn't, too, he would laugh and hug me tighter.

It was a great night before Halloween.

The next morning, we were tasked with taking Kayla trick-or-treating.

I went downstairs long before Milo did and found Camryn sitting at the island with a cup of coffee.

"Good morning," I smiled, walking into the kitchen and pouring myself a cup of coffee and joining her.
"Morning, Meg!" She grinned and handed me a piece of avocado toast.
I thanked her and we engaged in typical conversation.
"Would you be able to take Kayla trick or treating tonight?" Camryn asked.
I nodded, "Of course."
She smiled, thankfully, "Thank you, so much. She's been begging to go, but I'm busy tonight."
I nodded, understandingly, "We have Kylee's party at nine, so we can take her before and we'll just take her to the party."
"Thank you," Camryn grinned right past me.

I turned around to see what she was looking at and smiled as well. Milo was trudging down the stairs, no shirt, but just sweatpants, his hair was a mess, and he was rubbing his tired eyes and yawning. This was the time that he always looked the hottest.

"Good morning, Handsome Man,' Camryn greeted him.
"Morning Mom," He yawned and came to stand behind me, "Morning Meg."

I felt his arms wrap around me from behind and I looked up at him.

"Good morning," I smirked, as he leaned down to press a kiss to my lips.
"What's for breakfast?" He asked.
"Avocado toast," Camryn answered, handing him a piece, that was now probably a little cold.
"Thanks," He took it gratefully, and sat down beside me.
"We have Ky's party tonight and we have to take Kayla trick or treating before that." I explained.

He nodded and continued to eat.

We took Kayla from house to house, only getting confused as her parents, a few times. I didn't think we looked THAT old, but maybe we did. We didn't correct them, because that would just be awkward for them. Some people knew us, as actors or otherwise through Camryn or we already knew before.

When she was finally done and her bucket of candy was overflowing, Milo and I made her get back in the car, before she dumped it everywhere.

"That was fun," Kayla said, immediately shoving a piece if candy in her mouth.
"Yeah it was," I answered, swiping a Snickers from her overflowing bucket.
"Did you really need that much candy, though?" Milo asked, laughing and stealing a piece as well.
She looked as if he had just shot her, "What kind of question is that? You can never have too much candy."
We both laughed as we drove to Kylee's house.

When we pulled in, we noticed that there were a lot of people already there. So many that we actually had to park across the street, and walk to her house.

"We might need to leave early, if things get too out of hand," I whispered to Milo, as we walked up to the house, hand in hand.
He glanced at me and then Kayla, before nodding.

We both knew Kylee invited some pretty random people to her parties and they were always huge parties. They got really wild sometimes and there were usually some drunks passed out on her porch before the night was over.
If it were Trevor or any of our other friends (besides Mason) we wouldn't have to worry, because we knew almost everyone they invited. But Kylee's were different, and Mason's were pretty much the same.

"Hey Guys!" Kylee squealed inviting us in.
"Hey, Ky!" We both said, hugging her.
"Hey, Kayla!" She smiled, "Nice to see you again!"
Kayla smiled, politely, "Nice to see you too."

I grimaced, before putting on a fake smile and placing my hands on Kayla's shoulders, guiding her toward the kitchen, where not many people were.

Don't get me wrong, I like partying and always have fun, but I was a little worried for Kayla's sake.

"There were a lot of drunk people," Kayla giggled, "But nothing I haven't seen, before."
Milo and I chuckled, "These parties are crazy, so just stay close."

She nodded, before letting us do our thing. We had a few drinks, talked to a lot of people, and shared a few kisses, before noticing how tired Kayla looked.

"Milo," I said, walking over to him, unintentionally interrupting his conversation.
"Yeah," He asked, still sitting, but his arn wrapping around my waist.
"Kayla's tired, we ought to get going," I explained.
He pulled me down onto his lap and turned to talk to a guy I didn't recognize, "Colton, this is my fiance, I was telling you about. Meg, this is Colton."
"Nice to meet you, Meg," He reached out to shake my hand.
"Nice to meet you, too," I smiled, accepting his hand.
"What's your number? We should stay in touch," Colton suggested.
Milo took his phone and typed in the number, "Definitely!"
"Babe, we need to get going." I told him, standing and grabbing his hand, trying to pull him up, but my lack of upper body strength didn't help me.
"I'm coming," He said, shaking Colton's hand, "Nice meeting you."
"Back at ya," Colton laughed, before we got up and led Kayla to the car.

I meant to get this out to you almost two weeks ago and everything just got crazy. School has been kicking my butt and I am now on Mockingjay, the third book of the Hunger Games series and I'm literally addicted, so I have been reading a lot. Those of you that read this series, are you Team Peeta or Team Gale? I'm for Gale😂.
