December 2019

"One...Two...Three!" We said, together.
"Castle-" I was cut off, when I saw Kayla in the distance, gaping.

I looked back at Milo and saw he was down on one knee. It took my mind a second to register what was happening.

"Megan Elizabeth Donnelly," he held my hands, "Will you make me the happiest man alive..." He took a deep breath and pulled a velvet box out of his pocket, "Marry me?"

My eyes widened and by this point there were tears streaming down my face. I didn't want to cry on live TV, but I couldn't help it. I could hear screams all around me.

I began nodding, frantically, "Yes! Yes, a thousand times, yes!"

He slid the ring onto my finger and stood up. I put my hands on each side of his face and kissed him. The fans screamed even louder.

"I love you," I whispered as his arms snaked around my waist and he hugged me.
"I love you, too," He put our foreheads together.

I squeezed my eyes shut as tears leaked out.

"Baby, don't cry!" He said, wiping my tears with his thumb.

When everything settled down, we managed to calm down.

"So..." I began, "I'm engaged!"

That caused everyone to laugh. Milo wrapped his arm around my waist, kissing the top of my head.

"Now here is Shaggy's amazing performance!" He began.

As the party ended we went backstage to our trailers.

I gathered all my belongings, before we left. I opened his door, seeing him dressed and ready to go.

"Ready, Bubs?" I asked, walking in.
"Yeah," He sighed, "Let's go."
"Baby?" I stopped him, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," He shook his head.

I raised my eyebrows.

"Baby," I set all my stuff down on the couch next to his and wrapped my arms around his waist and began to massage his back, "I know something's wrong."
He squeezed me and chuckled, slightly, "I'm fine, Mega-Trillz. Just tired."
I shook my head, "I'm onto you."
He laughed, slightly, "I'm fine."

I rolled my eyes, playfully and kissed him again.

"Let's go," I picked up all of my junk and took his hand.

I slung my crossbody purse across my body, put my sunglasses on, and we left.

"Kayla, stick close. There's gonna be a bunch of fans," Milo said, taking her hand.

We walked through the crowd of fans excitedly congratulating us. We stopped occasionally to take pictures. We eventually made it to the hotel.

"Okay, so..." I looked at my fitbit, "It is now 10. I say we just stay here, get breakfast downstairs, we can eat up here. We'll go to sleep afterwards and we can spend the day doing whatever tomorrow."

They nodded in agreement. Those fireworks had taken a long time and we were all exhausted. Then we had the long walk back to the hotel. It had been a long day. Milo went downstairs and brought food, since Kayla wanted to stay upstairs.

"Kayla. I know you're worried about Noah coming back. We'll be okay," I closed my eyes.
"I am," She agreed, catching me off guard.
"I-" I was cut short by Milo coming in, with three plates on a tray.

Kayla got up and went over to wrap her arms around Milo's waist. He gladly returned the hug, but looked up at me, confused. I just smiled and shrugged. We ate quickly, before Milo and I went into the bathroom to do our nightly routines. For Milo, he took a shower, washed his face with soap, and brushed his teeth. I made him wait for me to wash my face, take a shower, brush my teeth, and do my skin care routine.

"I'm scared. Kayla's scared," I whispered, "Noah isn't going to stop that easily."

He sighed, drying his face with a towel, coming over to wrap his arns around my waist. I was washing my face at the sink.

"I knew you would say that," he let me continue to wash my face, "You know I'm not going to let anything happen to either of you."

I finished and dried my face off, before going to the bedroom of the hotel room. Milo followed and turned off the lights on the way out.

I drifted off to sleep, happily. I was safe, protected, and comforted. I was wrapped in my amazing fiance's arms. A little girl, who was basically my little sister, was sleeping in the bed next to us. It was almost Christmas. I got my biggest secret off my chest. And Noah was off my back---for the time being, at least. All in all, I was safe. I knew I was safe. I knew Milo would keep me safe. I knew he would protect me from anything and everything. He was the love of my life and I knew that would never change.
