This chapter was inspired by one of Milo and Mason's vlogs. I had this idea, but was kind of over it. One of my friends said it was a good idea, though, so I decided to give it a go.

February 2020

I woke up really early the next morning. I changed out of my sports bra and spandex I had worn to bed, since it was so hot, into a bikini, sliding on a pair of jean shorts. I did waterproof mascara. I went to the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee. I poured myself a cup, before going out on the balcony. It was early in the morning and there was a slight breeze. I sat on one of the chairs, sipping my coffee and thinking. I began singing softly.

"Desert moon. Light the way," I sang, quietly, "Til the dark turns to day. Desert moon. Wild and free. Will it burn...Just for me? Shine down. Shine down."
"I love that song," I heard a voice, behind me, making me jump.
"Oh, hey, Kayla," I smiled, "You scared me."
"Sorry," She apologized sitting in the chair next to me, "You're a really good singer."
"Awe thank you," I shrugged.
"Where's Milo?" She questioned.
"Asleep," I told her.
"Meg, I have a question," She said.
"Okay. Shoot," I motioned for her to ask.
"Who is Milo's dad?" She asked. "Mom doesn't answer me and I'm afraid it's too personal to ask Milo."
I sighed, not sure how to tell her, "Milo wouldn't care. His name is Jeffrey," I began, "He was your mom's close friend. He uh...helped her have Milo. He is still in Milo's life, just not very much."

She nodded and continued looking out at the ocean. I stood and moved to stand at the railing of the balcony.

"Hey," I heard a voice and felt strong arms slither around my waist and a head rest on my shoulder.
"Morning," I turned to peck his lips.
"Is Mom awake?" Kayla asked him.
"Nah. She sleeps in on vacation," Milo told her.
"Wanna go swimming?" Kayla asked.
"I'll bet I can get changed and out to the ocean, faster than you," Milo told her, shrugging.
"No you can't!" She defended herself, playfully.
I rolled my eyes at Milo's childless, "You two are so competitive."
"Race you!" He proved my point.
"Whoa Nellie!" I said, stopping the two of then. "Breakfast?"
They both nodded, "That might be smart."

I raised my eyebrows and nodded, before turning to go into the kitchen, them trailing behind me.

Milo was helping Kayla cook and it was adorable so I took a video.

We ate breakfast, Kayla and Milo changed and we went out to the ocean. I slid off my shorts and left them on my towel, so I could get in the water.

"Damn, Megan, that bikini looks hella good on you," He said, giving me a lookover.
I rolled my eyes and smiled, "Whatever."
"It does," He assured me, as I entered the water.

I was about knee deep and my hair was in a loose ponytail, with my sunglasses on my head.

I got to be about waist deep and Milo was on his knees so he looked to be just a few inches taller than me rather than the usual foot taller. I sat on his lap, wrapping my legs around his waist. He stood and began wading out into the deeper water, I kept a careful eye on Kayla, who was looking for dolphins. She might have been ten, but bad things can happen quickly. Too quickly. Milo stopped where he could still touch.

"We need to watch Kayla," I told him.
"I know," He said, pressing a short kiss to my lips.

We continued to swim. Milo and I were trying to stay closer to the shore, the deepest we went was to where Milo could still sort of touch. We continued laughing and playing with Kayla. It was lunch time, before Kayla got tired and wanted to go back. We all walked back, the sun drying our wet bathing suits. I clung onto Milo's arm, Kayla leading us to the beach house. We entered to find Camryn gone, but a note on the counter.

Gone window shopping and going to meet up with an old friend. Not sure how long I'll be. Hopefully i won't be too long.

Mom

I read the note out loud to Kayla and Milo, before putting it back on the counter.

"Looks like Milo has to make lunch!" I gave him a cheesy smile.
"Alright, alright," He said, "What do we want to make?
"Hot dogs!" Kayla shouted.
Milo opened the refrigerator to look, "How about bacon wraps?" He asked.
I shrugged, "Sounds good."
"Okay, because Mom already has them made," He smiled, pulling the plate that had a bunch of wraps out.

It was late and we were all sitting out on a blanket on the beach. The sun was setting and it was pretty dark. It was getting a bit chillier. I was wearing my shorts over my bathing suit.

"Wanna go for a walk?" Milo asked, offering his hand to me.
I smiled up at him, "Sure."

I took his hand and we went walking along the beach. Every now and then the water would splash against our ankles. His arm was wrapped around me, protectively, my head nestled into his chest.

"I always imagined us...Going to the beach with our four kids, the oldest two would constantly be yelling at us for kissing, but would swim, while the second youngest wanted to play in the sand. The baby would be fussing and wanting Mommy and Daddy to hold it," I confessed.
"That could be our reality in ten years," He whispered, placing a kiss on my temple, "It would be beautiful."
I closed my eyes against his touch, "I'm so excited to marry you."
"I'm excited to marry you, too." He made me face him, "You know, we haven't come up with a date for the wedding, yet."
I smiled, "I know, but I've been thinking...I was wanting a spring wedding," I began, "We could rent out a barn for the reception, I was thinking our colors maybe turquoise and yellow."
"That sounds perfect," He closed the gap between us.
"How about June 25th, 2022?" I asked, when we pulled away.
He chuckled, "Sounds like you've been thinking about this." He rubbed his hands up and down my arms.
"I have a whole board on Pinterest for this," I grinned.
"Ah, good old Pinterest," He said as we continued walking.

We walked in silence for a few minutes, thinking about our future.

I moved to wrap both of my arms around Milo's waist from the side, "I love you."
"I love you, too," He leaned down to kiss me.

As much as we didn't want our time to end, we eventually went back to find Kayla and Camryn still on the blanket, talking.

"Hey, we're back," I smiled, sitting next to Kayla.
"How was it?" Camryn asked, grinning.
Milo and I shared a look and smiled at each other, "It was good." We said at the same time.
Camryn and Kayla laughed, "What happened when you guys left?"
"Nothing. We just had a really good talk about our future," I admitted.
Kayla smiled, "Baby?"
I laughed and shook my head, "Not yet."

I want to get my books updated by tomorrow, so hopefully I can make that happen. I tried to make this a cute, fluffy chapter, so I hope you guys like it!
