January 2020

Camryn and I were in me and Milo's bathroom, upstairs. I opened the cabinet and pulled out a box, grabbing two pink sticks, before stuffing it back into the cabinet.

"I wanted someone to be here with me," I began, "but, I don't want to get Milo's hopes up, or upset him if he isn't ready, besides, I'm not so sure I'm ready."
"Of course," Camryn nodded, understandingly, "I'm here for you."

I took a deep breath as she walked out of the bathroom to give me some privacy. I peed on both sticks and set a timer on my phone for two minutes. I opened the bathroom door, nervously. Tears stained my face, Camryn pulled me into a hug.

"It'll be okay. Milo will be there to support you, if you are," She comforted me.

It seemed like the longest two minutes of my life. Finally, my phone's timer went off.

"Okay," I inhaled deeply, walking into the bathroom.

My nerves definitely did not help my stomach. I carefully flipped both of the sticks over at the same time. To my relief they were both negative. I started crying.

"Meg, Honey...Are you pregnant?" I heard Camryn ask behind me.
I shook my head, "No," I turned around and Camryn hugged me again.

I threw both sticks in the trash, before hearing my phone ding. I checked it and saw Milo was doing a live. I went back downstairs and sat on the couch, before clicking on it. I saw him holding a boy, around 5 or 6 years old and a bunch of other kids around him.

I watched him interact with them and it was literally the cutest thing. I was starting to feel the tiniest bit better, but far from 100%.

"Oh, look Meg's on!" He grinned.
"Meg!" They all shouted, in unison.
"Are you feeling up to go live?" He asked me.

I smiled and quickly typed that I was feeling better. He guested me and I was quick to accept. It took a few seconds to load.

"Hey," I whispered.

He must have seen the tears stains on my cheeks, because he looked at me with concern.

"You good?" He gave me a look.
"I'm fine," I told him.

He gave me a look that told me he knew I was lying, but didn't push the issue any farther. I chatted with the kids a bit longer, in my weak state, before Mi had to go. He was gonna be home in less than 20 minutes and I was glad. I decided to take a nap, in the family room, while I waited.

I was awoken when I heard Milo coming into the house. He put his keys in the key ring, and hung his coat up. I didn't open my eyes, still not fully awake.

"Where's Meg?" I heard him ask Camryn.
"She just fell asleep, on the couch. Her face is really pale and chalky," Camryn told Milo.

I snuggled under the covers that Camryn had apparently put over me, and tried to fall back asleep.

"I'm worried about her," Milo came over to me.
"It's probably just the flu," Camryn tried to comfort him.
He placed a gentle kiss on my forehead, "She's beautiful."
"She really is. Don't wake her up," Camryn stopped him, "She needs rest."
"I'll just take her upstairs," He whispered, picking me up gently.

By then, I felt a little less drowsy and could open my eyes.

"I'm home, Baby," He kissed the top of my head.
