LAURA POV
ugh Monday morning. I slap my alarm off and slouch out of bed. I pick out my clothes for the day. It is formal day at school so I find my nicest outfit and put it on
"Bye mom bye dad"I give them both kisses on their cheeks and leave the house. I have to walk to school but I don't really mind anymore
I walk into school only to see all the girls in fricken prom dresses. Strapless and everything. I look at my outfit and suddenly I feel my self confidence fading away. I grab my jacket and hold it over my chest. I walk to class but on the way I see ally. Oh yeah Ross's girlfriend. I keep walking but I listen while walking
"So I heard that the lynches are taking the Mariano's ranch"ally says
"How do you know?"her friend asks
"He's my boyfriend duh"she makes a gesture
"I hope they turn it into a mall"ok I'm done. I keep walking. I can't believe ally is cheating and who are these lynch people?
"Good morning class"my teacher announces and we all sit down
RIKER POV
"Hey ross do you have Vanessa's number?"
"Yeah here"he hands it to me then leaves. I type the numbers on my phone then hold it to my ear
VANESSA POV
I am at home right now helping my parents around the house and waiting for laura to be done with school. Suddenly, the phone rings.
"I'll get it"my mom grabs it and holds the cord like she always does. If you don't already know, we have a landline phone
"Hold on"I hear my mom say then she points the phone to me. I grab it

Hey vanessa its riker
Oh hey riker what's up?
Well I was wondering if you wanted to go to dinner tonight?
Oh um I would have to ask my parents because I'm not aloud to date so hold on
I place my hand over the phone
"Mo can I go out to eat dinner with a friend tonight?"
"Who and where?"she asks. I put my ear back up to the phone
Ok my mom is ok with it so where are we going?
I want to take you to a fancy restaurant near the movie theater
You mean in the city? I don't think I can do that why don't we just have a picnic on the hill?
Ness it's ok I'm sure you can survive one night In the city. I will pick you up at 6 so be ready
Then the line goes dead. I put the phone back down
"Huh there aren't many guys calling and asking you out"I roll my eyes then run upstairs on the way I purposely run into my mom. I let out a laugh and she did to
LAURA POV
I can't wait until I get home. I can go on the hill and ross will be there. I will tell him that ally is cheating on him and he will love me. I sigh in love as I walk into my house
"Hey mom where's ness?"she points upstairs. I walk upstairs
"Ness?"I give her a weird look
"Hey what do you think a girl on a date would wear this or this?"she put two different outfits in front of her
"Hummmm how about the first one"I grab it from her "defiantly this one"I smile at her
"Great"she grabs it then runs downstairs to the bathroom. I run after her and stare at the door
"So ness who's the lucky guy?"I lean my head against the wooden door
"Um you know that guy that was with ross that one day on the hill?"I roll my eyes and smile
"You mean riker?"I laugh while saying it
"Maybe"
"Great job"I clap my hands then she comes out and does a fancy twirl
"You look amazing ness"I stand and admire her dress
"Thanks oh but dad doesn't know so could you just stall while I'm gone?"she whispers
"Sure"she smiles then goes upstairs
ROSS POV
I over heard riker call vanessa earlier so I decided to call ally. I pick up my iPhone and dial ally's number

Hey babe what's up?
Oh um I was wondering if you could meet me on the hill I Uh have to tell you something
Sure babe I'll be there around 6
She hangs up the phone then I smile a little. I'm going to be single but not for long. You are going to be mine laura
VANESSA POV
"Omg it's almost 6"I pace around the room
"Calm down ness you look great plus this is riker we're talking about not some self absorbed banker like the lynch family"I shoot her a glare
"Sorry"she looks down then the doorbell rings. I run downstairs but my dad has already answered the door. They both look at me
"Ness who is this?"my dad asks me
"Um dad he is just a friend who asked me to go to dinner with him"I walk up to him but my dad blocks my way
"Where is he taking you?"he looks straight into my eyes and I just can't lie to him
"Um to um uh"riker cuts me off
"Um sir I am going to take her to the hill that her and laura always go to"my dad looks at him and he nods. I look passed my dad to see rikers face I mouth the words thank you and he just smiled. My dad moved out of the way and I walked out the door. Riker grabbed for my hand and we waked to his car. He opened my door and I sat down in my seat. I looked over at my house and once my dad closed the door riker leaned over and kissed me off guard. My first kiss. But I don't think he knows that. I start kissing back and soon he pulls away
"Ready?"he puts the key in and starts driving while I stare out the front holding my lip still in shock of what just happened. Riker drives all the way to town and I could see people walking with so many bags in their hands. I look at riker and he grabs his hands
A few minutes later, the car stopped and we both got out. We walked into the restaurant and sat down on a table. I look around and see a lot of people eating food and laughing. Then I look back at riker
"So ness um first a have a question then I have to tell you something"he grabs my hand and looks at me
"So um will you be my girlfriend?"I stare straight into his eyes then eventually a smile creeps up onto my face
"Yes"I say through my smile. He smiles to then his smile fades and he looks down
"Um so after I tell you this you might hate me"he looks at me again and I get worried
"Uh so the bank that is taking your ranch? the person who had the meeting with your parents is me"I imediatly let go of his hand
"W-what?"I feel a tear roll down my cheek
"Ness I'm sorry. I just found out myself"he tries grabbing my hand but I pull away before he can
"I just Uh need some time to think. So you just found out? But you held the meeting?"I am confused
"I know but I didn't know that those were your parents . Plus ross never told you guys our last name so that didn't really help the situation"I pull out my chair and stand up
"Can you drive me home?"I say then I walk to the car. He follows behind and gets into the car
ROSS POV
So it's is 6 o'clock and I am on the hill with ally
"Listen ally I think we need to see other people"she looks at me
"Why? Is there someone else?"she seems mad. Before I can answer she stands up
"Whoever she is. I'll kill her"after that she leaves and I just fall over and stare at the sky. Next is make laura mine
LAURA POV
it is so weird eating dinner without ness here. Almost right on cue she walks in the door. We all stand and look at her. She runs to dad and hugs him
"I'm sorry daddy"she cries into his chest
"W-what do you mean?"he rubs her back. She lets go
"Riker is the guy who is selling our ranch"she sobs. Then we all group hug around her. I can't believe ross never told me? I start crying to but it's not as bad as ness
