Confessions and so called miracles

I start walking when I hear cars pass me. I keep my head down when a car drives by really fast and splashes me with slush. I look forward to hear ally laughing. I shed a tear then keep walking. Now I am soaking wet and I have to throw up from ally kicking my stomach
I finally get to the lynch house
"Oh honey what happened?"stormie ran up to me and helped me to the couch me wincing with every step. Once I sit down, stormie runs away and comes back with a towel
"Honey what happened?"she sits next to me and rubs my back
"Ally kicked me and slapped me because ross broke up with her for me. Then I had to walk home and it's 11 degrees outside. I'm wet because ally splashed me with slush when she drove by"I shed a tear and storming keeps rubbing my back
"I thought the city was different. Magical. I've always wanted to be a city girl but now I wish that I would have appreciated the ranch more. But it's to late now. It's getting taken away"I look down
"So what are you saying?"I look at stormie
"I'm saying that I thought I was old enough to make my own choices and be independent but to be honest, I feel like I lost everything in two days. My friends, house,...family"I am now sobbing
"Shhh it's ok"storming gives me a full hug and I embrace it all the way
"Hey let's go unpack ok? We have a great spare room just waiting for someone to use it"I give her a weak smile
"Thanks stormie"she puts a piece of loose hair behind my ear then gets up. She extands her hand out and I take it. I wince getting up
"Hun are you ok?"she asks and I lift up my shirt to reveal the pain. All I see is a blue and black circle about the size if my foot with dried blood on my lower stomach. I let my shirt fall and look at stormie
"Don't tell ross"she nods then we head upstairs into Ross's room to grab my bags and we wheel them into the spare room. I look around and it is so beautiful. It has a twin day bed against one wall. A TV on the wall above the fireplace with a couch in front of it
"Oh my gosh stormie"I smile
"You like?"I frantically nod my head then start putting my stuff away
"We used to have a lot of fancy guests over but ever since the company we don't really anymore"she throws my bag on the bed
"Be done packing by dinner"she walks out and I smile. I look around and I see two doors. I open one to see a big empty closet. The closet is really big. I walk out and open the second door. I find a bathroom. I go inside and close the door. I lift up my shirt to looks at the bruise in the mirror. It looks really bad. I shake it off then walk back into the main room. I keep admiring the room. On the couch are blankets. There is a window bench and next to it is a keyboard. In between the two doors is a desk. I walk to the desk and I see a box on it. I open it and see what's inside. There is a computer inside but there's papers on it. I grab them and see that they are job applications. I put the papers back in the box and keep unpacking. I hang my clothes up in the closet, put my shoes on the shelves, even put my other pictures and stuff on the desk and mantle. Something isn't right here though. I look in my closet and see that it's half empty. Ugh I need to go shopping. I think that's the first time that thought even crossed my mind. What is happening to me
RIKER POV
I take a quick glance at the clock and it reads 5:30. I finish typing. Aaand done. I click the enter button then lean back in my chair
"Hey bro it's time to go"Rocky tells me then leaves. I get up from my chair and walk to the printer. I grab the document that took forever to write but it's finally done. I staple a piece of paper to the front and write marano ranch on it. Then I leave. I don't drive home, I drive to the ranch. The road is bumpy because it's a dirt road and it might ruin my paint job but it's worth it. I pull up to the house and slip the letter in the door. I ring the doorbell then get back into my car and speed off
ROSS POV
Yes I'm finally home
"Hey mom were home"she walks up to us and we group hug
"First you all need to clean your rooms because they are dirty"we all whine. We all make our way upstairs but mom stops me
"Ross, why didn't you pick laura up from school?"I am confused
"Because I was at work why what happened?"she looks at her shoes then back at me
"I think you should talk to her"I nod then run into my room but none of her stuff is in ther. I run into the guest room but it's locked. I knock
"Who is it?"I hear laura ask
"It's me"I could hear some movement then the door opens. I walk in and sit on the bed. She closes the door
"So I'm guessing that we won't have anymore guests?"I joke and she shoots me a glare
"Haha very funny"she turns around and sits on her desk chair writing something
"Listen lar"she spins around"I'm sorry I didn't pick you up from school. I was stuck at work"she smiles then spins back around and keeps writing
"Lar did you hear what I said?"she looks at me
"Yeah I heard you but first I need to ask"she stands up and walks to the bed. She sits next to me and grabs my hand"did you actually break up with ally?"I could tell she was about to cry so I hugged her
"Of course I did"she nods then she looks at me
"I would never lie to you"she then crashes her lips onto mine
"Thanks"is all she says before walking to her closet
"What are you looking for?"I ask
"Um I need a swimsuit for a pool party at school. Every Friday we have a party and next Friday it is a pool party today was crazy hair day but I didn't do that"I walk up to her an wrap my arms around her waist
"How about tomarrow we all go shopping because you also need a phone so you can call me for a ride from now on"I could see a smile creep up the side of her face
"Dinner guys"rydel interrupts. Laura slides out of my arms and walks towards the door. I catch up to her and grab her hand. We walk down to the table together
VANESSA POV
it is 6 o'clock and my mom, dad, and I are playing apples to apples in our pjs
"Ok Ellen your turn"my dad says holding his cards up
"Ok the green card is cute"my dad and I both look at our cards and we both slam our cards down. Then the doorbell rings
"I'll get it"my dad sets his cards face down then walks to the door. He opens it
"Hello?"he calls but no response. Then he sees a piece of paper. He rips it off the door and reads the front. He walks back to us and reads it out loud
Dear mr and mrs marano, we are sorry for causing all this inconvenience. I am happy to announce that your lease has been canceled. I just need you to come back to the back to sign some papers. I looked at your file and it looks like you guys will do fine. When you do come to the bank ask for riker and the lady at the front desk will lead you. Again we are very sorry
I can't believe this
"Did-did that just happen?"I ask then my mom jumps up
"We get to keep the ranch!!"her and my dad jump around then I join them
"It's a miracle!"my dad says holding the paper high in the air
LAURA POV
I wake up the next morning and it is Saturday. Yes no ally today. I jump out of bed and run downstairs. There is nobody awake so I walk back up to my room and walk to my bathroom to get ready. I shower and get dressed before I put my shirt on, I check the bruise. It looks worse today. Now it is turning green but I'm not worried. I then put my shirt on and walk out of the bathroom and sit on my desk. I take the computer out of the box and turn it on. I spent the next 3 hours setting up my computer. I only know how to use computers because my school makes us use them. I look at the clock and it is 10 o'clock. 3 hours have passed since I woke up so now it's Ross's turn. I get up and run to Ross's room barefooted. I dramatically open his door then run to his bed and jump on it like a little kid on Christmas
"Ross get up"I shake him and keep jumping until he wakes up. My side still hurts but I don't think it's as bad as yesterday. Ross's eyes flutter open and I stop jumping
"Hey cutie"I kneel on the bed and he smiles
"You know what time it is? Go back to sleep"he moves his hand and tries to knock me down but all he does is mess up my hair
"Hey wake up!"I shake him more
"Why should I?"his eyes are now closed. I think
"Because I'm ready to do it"he doesn't move for a while
"What?"he asks and I silently laugh
"I'm ready for you to take advantage of me"he jolts up and looks at me laughing. He shoots me a glare
"Thanks for that heart attack"he rubs his eyes
"Sorry but you need to come down stairs. I've been up since 7 so get up sleeping beauty"I grab his arm and drag him out of bed. I try getting up but I fall. At first I just laid there and we both laughed then I tried getting up
"Ow"I say under my breath. I hold my stomach and try getting up and I finally do. I'm not risking that again
"Fine"I walk out of the room and walk downstairs. I see stormie in the kitchen making pancakes
"Hey stormie"I sit on the chair by the island in the middle of the kitchen
"Hey kiddo what's up?"she keeps using the spatula to put pancakes on a plate
"I know your not a doctor but can you look at my bruise?"I get off the chair and walk to her. I lift up my shirt to reveal the green purple and black bruise. But now I see that it is bleeding again
"I-Uh I was trying to get ross out of bed and I fell. But don't worry he still doesn't know"she shakes her head
"I think you should tell him"she grabs my shirt and drops it over my bruise
"I know but then he would kill ally"I sit back down
"And you care?"she goes back to making pancakes
"Well no not exactly but if I say something and ross goes after her, I will die. Ross doesn't go to school so he doesn't know what she will do"I grab a pancake "anyway these are really good"she rolls her eyes
"Don't eat to many trust me this is how they get out of bed. FOOD!!!!"she yells then I hear footsteps running down the stairs. I see 3 blondes and two brunettes run into the kitchen and grab plates. They help themselves to food then sit down on the island with me
