Riker POV
So today my dad arranged a meeting for me. Of course it would be really early in the morning. It was supposed to be him but now that I'm in charge I have to do it
"Bye mom we have to go"I kiss her cheek then we all get in our cars and drive to the company. Once I get there, I imediatly get ready for the meeting
Rydel POV
I am sitting at the front desk and I see a man and woman walk in
"Hello how may I help you today?"I ask them then the man talks to me
"Yes we are here about a meeting with a mark lynch
"Why yes I have that here let me show you to his office"I walk to my dads old office as they follow me
"My name is rydel by the way"I stop at the door then riker opens it
"Hello guys please come in"he gestures them to go inside then they do. Once the door closes, I walk back to the front
Riker POV
They take a seat in front of my desk and I sit in the chair.
"Ok let's discuss your problem with the bank. So the bank wants to take your land in order to build on it is that correct?"I ask because I really am not sure
"Yes that is true. They want to build another building that is connected to this one"the man says
"Well I don't believe that would happen but I will check in on it and let you know ok?"I don't have any information for them. I hope my dad isn't planning to take their land. We all stand and I shake the mans hand. They leave and I sit and try to think. then my brother comes in interrupting my thoughts
"Hey bro um after work I need to show you a spot on the mountain. It is so great. I even meet someone there"he seems happy about this place
"Why don't you take Rocky or rydel?"why do I have to go?
"Because you need a girlfriend. Besides Rocky is still dating alexia and rydel has ratliff"my eyes go wide
"What?"
"Nothing. Never mind. Just come"he then leaves and I let out a big sigh
Through the next 12 hours, I get a lot of clients in and out. Crying about their issues with the company.
"Bro it's time to go"Rocky peeps his head in then he leaves. I pack up my stuff and walk out seeing ross waiting for me at his car. I walk up to him
"It's about time your here. So just follow me"he gets into his car and I do the same. I follow ross for about 2 miles until we park in an empty parking lot. We both get out
"Ok so now what?"I ask
"We have to walk to the top"he starts walking and I catch up to him
"So tell me about this girl"I say trying to start a conversation
"Well she lives on a ranch here in the mountains but her land is being taken by a bank. Anyways she is smart, funny, adorkable, and when I'm with her I feel so free. She's different from other girls"he looks down and smiles we finally get to the top. We both turn and look out at the view. Man he was right this is amazing
"Wow"was all I could say
"Yeah"he looks behind us and smiles. I draw my attention to where he is looking and I see a small brunette riding a orange horse and right next to her is a girl with black curly hair. She is riding a black horse with a white nose
"Hey laura"ross says and she gets down for her horse
"Hey um who's this?"she gestures towards me
"Oh this is riker. Riker this is laura and Vanessa"vanessa then gets off her horse
"Hey again"I say awkwardly
"Hey"she says back then we just smile at each other
"Ok so do you guys want to go for a walk?"that girl laura says. Ross smiles and we start walking. I see Ross slid his hand in lauras. I look at vanessa
"This is really great"she says
"Yeah but mom and dad went to the bank and they said that they are doing everything they can to make sure that we can keep our property. "Well I don't believe that would happen but I will check in on it and let you know ok?" That's what they said"my eyes imediatly go wide. I hit ross in the arm and gesture for us to leave
"Um I think we have to go guys"ross says
"No but you just got here"laura pouts
"I'm sorry but we have to"he lets go of lauras hand and walks away.
"Bye guys"I run to catch up to ross
"What the heck was that? Why did we have to leave?"he seems mad
"Because I realized that our company is the one that is taking their ranch"he stops walking and looks at me
"How?"
"I said that to them. We need to fix this"ross runs to his car and I follow him all the way home. He storms in
"Hi honey how was work?"my mom asks him
"Where is dad?"he asks with a mad time in his voice
"Oh he is still at work filling out final paper work for that ranch"I look at ross and I could see a tear roll down his cheek
VANESSA POV
"OMG he is soooo cute"I blush at lauras love life.
"So what about riker?"she asks me but I don't answer I just blush
"Awwww you like him"I keep blushing
"Ugh last one home is the loser"I hit dusty and we take off. Laura and Yankee aren't far behind but dusty and I win
"I clearly won"I get off and put dusty in his stall
"Yeah yeah"laura does the same for Yankee then we go inside
"Hey girls um can you go upstairs?"my mom says to us and we just obey imediatly and go upstairs
"What do you think is going on?"laura asks me with her face peering out the crack of the door
"We can't do anything. This lynch family is so terrible. They aren't going to even try to do anything about it"I could hear my dad screaming
"Baby why don't we just go down to the bank and talk to the supervisor?"my moms sweet voice asks him
"No this is garbage! We shouldn't have to go down there. Why do they need our land anyway?"Laura backs away from the door and cries in my chest. We stay like this while still listening to our parents argue
ROSS POV
We are all eating dinner when my dad walks in. I stand up
"Dad what all did you do to that ranch?"I ask him
"Um I signed a contract so now we have full control over that ranch why?"
"We know who own that ranch. You can't ruin it"I beg
"And why not? Look are you the one in charge? I don't think so"he walks past me but I follow him
"But dad-"he cuts me off
"I'm sorry son my hands are tied. Our company could really use more room"he sits down and I run to my room. Soon riker walks in
"Hey bro"I look at him and he walks in
"What are we going to do? I don't think I've ever felt this way about a girl before. I can't just throw all of that away by telling her we are the bad guys"I desperately look into his eyes and he sighs
"First don't you have a girlfriend? And second I don't want to do that either but what choice do we have?"I shake my head. But then I have an idea
"What if we show dad some other options where the building could be?"
"That could work ok I have to go"he gets up and walks out the door. Ok so first break up with ally second ask laura out third save their ranch before they find out. After that I close my eyes and fall into a deep sleep
