Chapter 11

I lay on the couch, watching Youtube. My parents are in the kitchen talking, I dont know what about but I dont mind. Bethany is out at breakfast with some friends, so I just eat some toast alone. I am just going to hang at home today, I feel a little sick. I hear my phone buzz, a text from Nic and Bethany.

Nic

Winter, how are you? Just wanted to see whats up! Anyways I have a special surprise for you, but cant tell you now! Bye<3

I feel sick at his heart, but I let it pass by.

Bethany!!!

Hey there you! Wanted to buy you somthing from iHop, whatd ya want? Bye

I reply saying a coffee, and turn my phone off. I walk into the kitchen, and my parents dtop talking when they see me.

Mom: Hey there Winter! Me and your father were just talking.

Me: What were you talking about?

Mom changes the subject saying that she and dad should get ready for work. I put my clothes on: Black sweater and grey leggings. I go back to the kitchen, and see papers on the counter and take a seat to see them. I read them a little and see something thst makes me want to cry. It says something about a divorce. A DIVORCE!!! Now I really start crying, really hard. I have to go into my backyard, so my parents dont hear me. I call Winifred and tell her all about, and she tells me to meet her at BigBens Icecream Parlor.

Me: I cannot believe my parents are getting divorced!! I-I cant believe it!!

Winifred: Winter, it is all right, I bet it is a misunderstandin! Did you read the whole thing?

Me: No, but I read enough of it. I should get going, I have to make dinner. See ya, Winifred!

At 12;00 I hear a knock on the door, and get up to see who it is. I open the door and find Nic standing in front of me.

Nic: Winter, hi.

Me: What are you doing here Nic? It is like twelve, AT NIGHT!

Nic: I know,I know. But here me out.
