Chapter 21

"I was thinking of taking you to breakfast, and then go in some rides," Nic tells me. We just got to Magic Kingdom this morning, and we are going to a nearby café.
"That sounds great!" I reply back, then take my phone out to take a selfie. Typical Beth. We keep walking around, not ready for rides until later in the day.
"Hey, that looks like a cute place to eat!" Nic points towards a small little shop.
"Perfect! Let's go," I smile. We walk into the building, the smell of coffee interfering with the muffins. Me and Nic walk up to the counter, reading the menu.
"Hello, could I get a tall peppermint hot coco?" I ask the waiter, not wanting caffeine.
"Yes I can, and you sir?" The man asks, his name tag saying Herald.
"I would like a plain coffee, thanks," Nic replies.
We head to a table, and I hear my phone buzz. "Hello?" I answer, irritated.
"Hi Winter! It's Bethany, I should probably be asleep but I wanted to see how you're doing!" Bethany half whispers into her phone.
"I am doing really good, me and Nic are at a little café in Magic Kingdom," I tell Bethany. "But I should probably get going, we are having a little bit of a busy day."
"Oh yeah! I totally get it, we'll talk soon! Bye!" Bethany says again. I put my phone away and apologize to Nic.
"No problem Winter!" Nic says apologetically. "Hey you know who I haven't heard you talk about lately?"
"Who?"
"Winifred!"
"Well we kinda had a fight, and I have not talked to her since," I tell Nic.
"Me and her talk sometimes, walking last each other in the park, and she really misses you!" Nic exclaims.
"Okay Nic! I get it! How about I call her now?!" I shout.
"No that wasn't what I meant!" Nic protests. My phone is already ringing.
"Hey Winifred! It's Winter," I talk into my iphone. "I just wanted to say sorry about that fight we had a few weeks ago. Can you forgive me?"
"Of course Winter! I am sorry to, can't wait till you get back!" The sound of her accent makes me smile.
"Bye Wini!"
"Bye Winter!"
"There are you happy?" I ask Nic, then excuse myself for the restroom.

"Aaaaaaahhhhh!!" I shriek as the roller coaster takes us upside down. I grab Nics hand and feel him flinch, I let go.
"No it's okay!" I hear him shout over the screams. I grab his hand again. The roller coaster slows to a stop.
"That was crazy!" I exclaim, running my hands through my hair.
"Yeah, it was!" Nic replies, then runs his stomach. "Let's go get lunch!"
"You can, I am going to check out some other places," I reply guiltily.
"That's cool, I will meet you around 1:00?" Nic says, clearly okay with the idea.
"Thanks! See you then!" I thank him. He walks off in the opposite direction of me. I had to have a little break,
I go towards a nearby bench, and sit down. I pull my sketchbook from my backpack, I have not used my notebook in a while. Most of the pages are filled with designs from when I was making clothes for Forever21.
I toss it in the trashcan, not wanting those memories.

I have been on this bench for an hour, and I see Nic coming.
"Are you ready to go back!" He asks.
"Yeah," I answer.
