The Seaside

I put my ear on your mothers stomach,

I hear her uterus lurching with blood, the tide pulls in, out,

I feel it tighten around my fingers,

I saw the small face wash up on her shore,

I made... love,

I know the shells cradle the sea's falsetto and the baritones drumming in her stomach,

I love her, mine full of zinc.
