Bumpy Ride (Prose Poetry)

I'm that girl on a bumpy ride. Fraught with danger and no place to hide. I've walked and walked with friends of mine. How sad... we know where we say good bye.

I'm that girl on a bumpy ride. No friends, no family, cheering at the side. I'm alone, I soon realize. How sad... I know I should continue with life.

I'm that girl on a bumpy ride. Starved of air, nothing riverine. Confusion is me at junctions without signs. How sad... if only I had a guide.

I'm that girl on a bumpy ride. Halfway through, would I say I tried? "What good would that do?" I reason with a smile. I can only say such when I've journeyed the entire mile.

I'm that girl on a bumpy ride. Found a guide, after such a long time. He not only showed me the light. He took my hand and brought me nigh.

I'm that girl on a bumpy ride. Now at the end, I can raise a happy cry. How nice... I walked this path and survived.
