We collect
donors for
Merry and Bright.
StudCo is
drowning in
planning events,
many of them
Senior activities
which won't happen
until May.
Cadence is over
Friendship Week,
while I'm helping
put together
the beginning
stages of
Merry and Bright.
It's only, like
October 7th.
I'm mostly
working on
decorations,
which I'll
probably enlist
Cadence's help for.
Apparently,
people think I'm
good at
matching colors
and twisting streamers
or something,
but really,
Cadence is the genius.
I'll exchange
my help
delivering
Student of the Week
certificates and
candy bars.
As my group
doggy-paddles
toward December;
we set tickets
on sale,
start advertising,
ask the office
to add it to
the official calendar
and weekly newsletter,
promote spirit
among the Seniors
who would
really rather
get out of here
than show up
to things
dressed in
green and yellow.
I don't
blame them.
I don't like
looking like
someone vomited
their entire
citrus intake
on me.
But I brandish
my green
StudCo jacket
like a weapon
at every single
game
or competition
or school fundraiser
I go to.
