Aviva POV
I sat on the bed waiting for Mey-rin. She burst through the door holding an outfit, startling me as I jumped to my feet. I quickly wiped away my tears.
"I'm so sorry my lady, yes I am! I'm Mey-rin!" She said holding her hand out. I couldn't believe it was really her.
"I-I'm Aviva. It's really nice to meet you." I said shaking her hand. It was weird having to pretend I didn't know her. She helped me into the shirt and dress (see picture). I looked in the mirror and fixed my hair into a braid. I smiled, I was surprised at how much I liked the outfit. I guess Mey-rin could tell.
"Mister Sebastian picked this out, he did! It looks amazing on you." She said fixing the back of it. I guess she could tell I was nervous.
"Don't worry about meeting Master Ciel. He's a good master! He got me these glasses himself, he did!" She said trying to reassure me. I knew he did but that didn't take away from her trying to help me.
"Thank you, Mey-rin." I said before hugging her. She was a bit surprised I hugged her but she hugged back and I smiled.
I pulled away and looked back in the mirror. I put my hair in a loose braid with a few strands framing my face.
"I'll go get mister Sebastian!" She said before waving and leaving.
Sebastian POV
I thanked Mey-rin for informing me the girl was ready. I went to retrieve our guest but stopped at the door. I raised my hand to knock, but stopped. Why am I hesitant? I shook it off and knocked on the door and asked permission to enter. She granted and I entered, leaving the door open.
"My young master is ready for you miss." I said looking at her. She quickly nodded. I motioned to the hall and she walked out. After exiting the room, I began to lead her to my young master's study. I kept looking at her. I couldn't not look at her. What is wrong with me? This was starting to irritate me.
I stopped in front of his study and knocked. "Enter." He said coldly.
"I brought her as you requested, my lord." I said opening the door to let the two of us in. She walked in behind me, obviously scared. My master took one look at her then told her to sit.
Aviva POV
I nodded and sat in the chair opposite him. I was probably failing at hiding how nervous I was. This is all too much. I want to go back...but at the same time I'm so curious where this will take me. I kept taking deep breaths to try and keep in a panic attack. He was seven years younger than me but definitely scarier.
Third person POV
The young earl looked at the girl across from him.
"I'll start with who are you, what were you doing in my garden, and why the hell did you jump out of my window?!" He said, angry at the end. He was obviously upset that some random girl appeared on his property...and almost killed herself jumping from his study window.
She really didn't know how to answer. She opened her mouth to answer but said nothing.
"I am the Earl of Phantomhive, Ciel Phantomhive, head of the Funtom Company, head of this estate, and you will answer my question!" He practically shouted. It scared Aviva and she jumped in her seat.
"I don't know how I got here!" She said quickly.
"M-my name is Aviva. Aviva Faye." She said calming down. "And I'm sorry about jumping from your window. I thought...I thought," she said, stopping herself from crying, "I thought I was dreaming." She said looking at her lap. "Whenever I know I'm dreaming I try to fly and jump out a window. But every time I jump, I wake up. So I thought if I jumped....I would wake up." She said shyly.
The young earl frowned at the girl, struggling to believe her story. "Sebastian." He said turning to Sebastian, not even raising his head to face the demon.
"I can sense no indication of her lying, my lord." Sebastian says leaning down to Ciel.
"I have no reason to lie!" Aviva said, a bit upset now. "I gain nor lose anything from it!" She said almost inching towards the edge of her chair.
"Fine." Ciel said coldly. "Where do you live? I'll have Sebastian take you home." He said almost with emotion.
"I do appreciate the offer, but...I have no where to go. I'm..." Aviva said before looking down, "from so far away. And have no way of getting back." She said, not wanting to cry in front them.
"Young master, we do have space in the servant quarters. You could surely benefit from another maid considering the current staff." Sebastian said leaning slightly towards the boy.
Ciel looked at the girl in front of him and considered his butler's suggestion. She looked at Sebastian, surprised he would even suggest it. She said nothing, but he could see she was thanking him. Aviva looked back to the young earl.
"Fine." He said flicking his hand towards Sebastian.
Aviva was so excited she jumped up and got closer to the desk. "Thank you. Thank you, thank you! I won't let you down." She said, grateful.
"Welcome to the Phantomhive manor. You will do as I say, when I say it, and protect myself and this manor with your life. Get her a uniform and get her trained." He said looking towards Sebastian but not making eye contact.
"Yes my young lord." He said before bowing and leading Aviva out. He made sure no one could see, but he gave a small smile.
