Chapter 8: Some Time Off

Aviva POV

I ran to the kitchen to tell Bard. I opened the doors and he stood up, waiting for the result of our work.

"He liked it." I said beaming. "He liked it. Bard he really liked it!" I said before running and jumping to hug Bard.

"Haha yes!" He practically shouted before picking me up in a hug.

I was shaking. I couldn't let Sebastian see how nervous I was. Mey-rin and Finny ran in.

"What's all the shouting for?" He asked. Bard put me down and put his arm around me.

"Aviva cooked a fantastic lunch for the master! He really liked it!" He said...proud. He was proud me. I missed the feeling of someone being proud of me. That sent the tears flowing.

"Wait Aviva why are you crying?!" Mey-rin said before she and Finny ran up to me.

"Yeah. Shouldn't you be happy?" Finny said looking at me concerned.

I wiped away some tears and smiled. "Oh I am Finny! I'm so happy." I said putting my hand on his shoulder. I sniffled and laughed lightly.

"You should be! We make a pretty good team!" Bard said his arm pulling me closer.

"Yeah we do!" I said turning to the chef.

"What is going on in here?" We heard. We looked and saw Sebastian standing by the door.

"Oh Sebastian! We were just celebrating Aviva's success with lunch!" Bard said smiling.

"You did help too Bard!" I said turning to him.

"Yes...you both did well. Miss Aviva?" He said. The four of us were surprised he said we did well.

"Yes Sebastian?" I said wiping away a stray tear.

"You did well with lunch. You may have the rest of the day off." He said stoically. I gasped and smiled brightly.

"Thank you Sebastian! Thank you so much!" I said running up to him. I started running to the door but stopped. I turned back to Sebastian.

"Sebastian is the master leaving for anywhere today?" I asked.

"No. Why?" He asked.

"I'm going to go for a ride!" I said before running to change. I ran to the room I first woke up in. I dig deep into the closet and found some pants. I changed into a blouse, the pants, and grabbed a cloak.

I ran to the stables. The first horse I looked at looked like he could use to time outside. I grabbed everything I need to saddled him up. I had to climb up the stable wall to mount him. I bucked his sides and walked him out by the garden. I saw Finny pruning.

"Hey Finny!" I said stopping the stallion.

"Oh, hi Aviva! Going for a ride?" He said standing.

"Yeah! I'll be back later!" I said before walking off. I waved and turned back to the front, ready to ride.
