Third person POV

Aviva needed to spend the next day in bed. She had no idea how she got back or how she healed so quickly. Around 2 pm Aviva jumped awake. She looked down and noticed she was in her pajamas. She slowly got out of bed and put on her robe. She made her way out of the room to look for anyone in the townhouse. After walking down the hall for a
minute, Sebastian turned the corner and was certainly surprised to see her up and about. She smiled brightly and started to make her way towards him. After a few steps, the world began spinning. As she fell she saw Sebastian appear next to her in an instant to catch her and pick her up bridal style.

"Hi Sebastian!" She said weakly.

"You should not be out of bed, Aviva." Sebastian said walking back to her room. She brought her hand to her head.

"What happened, Sebastian?" She asked.

"We stopped Jack the Ripper last night. How much do you remember?" He asked.

"I remember..." She said before scoffing. "I remember getting stabbed by Madame Red. The last thing I really remember was William showing up and dragging Grell away." Aviva said.

"Yes...Mr. Spears did come to collect Grell. Unfortunately I was unable to fulfil the young master's orders and completely end Jack the Ripper." He said.

"There's nothing you could have done, Sebastian. William would have showed up no matter what to retrieve Grell." Aviva said.

"But how could you know that? And how did you know William Spears by name?" Sebastian asked, stopping in front of Aviva's door.

"I know more than I should, Sebastian." She said before Sebastian opened her door and walked in. He brought her to bed and helped tuck her in.

"How could you possibly know so much? I know nothing about you, Aviva." Sebastian said sitting on the bed beside her. She smiled.

"Of course you do! You know my favourite composer, my favourite Shakespeare play, my favourite flower, you know my favourite horse...you somehow figured out my favourite tea for god's sake!" She said smiling. Sebastian gave her a small smile.

"While, admittedly, that is all true...you have kept your past a close secret. What could you be hiding from us that needs to be so intently kept secret?" Sebastian said.

"Well...what do you want to know?" She asked. Sebastian leaned back slightly, a bit surprised by the question. Surprised she might even offer information on herself.

"Where are you from?" He asked.

"I'm from Georgia, a southern state in America." She replied.

"What's it like there?" Sebastian asked.

"It warm. And very humid. The weather is very inconsistent, though. Mostly agricultural based economy. Slavery is the majority choice for employers." She said.

"I see. Does your family own slaves?" Sebastian asked. Aviva panicked for a split second, trying to sound as convincing as possible since this is all bullshit

"No. We were too poor." She said, hiding her anxiety. She knew she technically wasn't lying to him, but was still very anxious.

"Tell me about your family." Sebastian said bluntly.

"I'm an only child. My father died when I was 13. His mother helped mine to raise me." She said.

"Are you not worried about them not knowing where you are?" Sebastian asked. Aviva shook her head.

"They both died when I was 18." She said plainly.

"How did they-" Sebastian said before he was interrupted by a ringing bell. He sighed and looked to Aviva. "If you'll excuse me, Miss Aviva, I will return shortly." He said before leaving her.

Though, 'shortly' never came. Aviva watched him leave, wondering why he went from just saying her name to saying Miss again. For someone whose job requires consistency, he certainly is inconsistent. With her, at least. After waiting for about an hour for Sebastian to return, Aviva fell asleep. She went to sleep sad, thinking Sebastian forgot about her. Or worse lied, knowing he wouldn't be quick.

2 and a half hours have now gone by. Sebastian had just taken away Ciel's tea. He went back to the kitchen and prepared a tea tray for Aviva as an apology. He knocked on the door. No response. He knocked louder.

"Miss Aviva?" He called. "I apologise for returning much later than I had anticipated." He said a bit loud. Nothing. "Aviva?" He called again. "I'm coming in." He warned before slowly opening her door.

He walked in and noticed her asleep. He smiled slightly and placed the tray on a small round table. He walked over and sat on her bed beside her.

"How can you make me feel like this, Aviva?" He asked quietly. "What could you possibly be? Every day you convince more you are anything but human. The way you speak and influence those around is unlike anything I have ever seen. Your very existence is an enigma. I have never felt more intrigued by anyone or anything." Sebastian said before standing. "I will figure you out one day Aviva." He said.

He grabbed the tea set and quietly left. As soon as the door closed Aviva jumped awake. She looked around the room, as if she was looking for something.

"Sebastian?" She called out quietly.
