Aviva POV
We finally arrived back. Sebastian should be inside waiting for us. I hopped off the front of the carriage and walked next to Ciel. Lau opened the door to a bowing Sebastian.
"Welcome back, everyone. I have been awaiting your return." He said giving his closed eyes smile. "The afternoon tea is ready for you in the drawing-room." He said taking Ciel's hat. I followed Ciel, leaving everyone else at the door. This was just rich. Wait...does Sebastian know that I know? Should I wait for him to tell me? Or should I just tell him? I...kind of want to play around with this. I know I shouldn't and it's not the person I am. I just need to be honest with him and hopefully...in return...he'll be honest with me. I heard Madame Red questioning him and I stopped at the stairs. I turned back and listened to Sebastian give his, as I'll be calling it, suspect report.
"I have narrowed down our list to one possible suspect." He said stoically.
"Are you certain you're just a butler? Not a secret military intelligence officer?" Madam Red asked, very impressed. Sebastian smirked.
"See, my lady...I am simply one hell of a butler." Sebastian said.
I snickered and quickly covered my mouth. Ciel looked at me suspiciously. Oops. But he finally said it! Ugh but now he won't stop saying it.
(Time skip)
After tea, it was time to work out our plan for the Viscount Druitt's party tonight. I can't wait to see Ciel in a dress! I followed Madam Red so she could work on me. Oh god, the corset's first. I held onto the bed frame for dear life. My knuckles turned white as snow....and I made so many sounds that could have been seriously misinterpreted. Just breathe Aviva. You've worn corsets plenty of times for renaissance festivals and cosplay...but this is so much worse! One last pull of the strings and I had the wind knocked out of me. I stood up and caught my breath. Madame Red sat me down so she could do my makeup.
She really didn't do as much as I thought. Just eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick. She actually did a good job. I could tell she was enjoying herself. I felt so bad for her. All she wanted was a family. And then...she snapped. I wasn't focusing on what she was doing to my hair, I was deep in thought. She pat my shoulder and I looked up. My hair was in an intricate bun with a few curled strands framing my face. For the first time in a long time, I felt...beautiful.
Sebastian POV
"What could possibly be taking them so long?" My young master asked, growing impatient It was taking them a while. Then I heard footsteps. Finally, they are ready.
Madame Red came out first. "May I present, for tonight...Lady Charlotte." She said motioning to the door. Miss Aviva stepped out and...my jaw dropped slightly. I quickly closed it, though. What in hell's name was that? My jaw actually dropped. I looked at her and she just looked like a china doll. (dress above) Pure porcelain skin, she looks so...delicate. I couldn't stop looking at her. What the hell is wrong with me? She's just another human! Oh...I've said that before haven't I? The four of us were silent. I suppose that made her nervous.
"D-do I look okay?" She asked before looking down. I wanted to say 'yes, you look lovely,' but I just couldn't move. What the hell is wrong with me?!
"You look wonderful, my dear." Madam Red said taking Miss Aviva's hands. "Come! It's time to go!" She said pulling Miss Aviva put to the carriage. We all followed. I opened the door to the carriage and helped everyone in. Miss Aviva smiled at me as she climbed in. She's so...sweet. She just carries this aura of innocence and purity. However, I feel she knows a lot more than she leads on. I can tell there's so much more to her. And I want to know all of it.
Aviva POV
Sebastian helped me in the carriage and I smiled at him. It was a bit cramped in the carriage with the five of us. We set off for the party. I was really nervous. I'd never been to a party before. I was spacing off until Sebastian's voice caught my attention.
"The Viscount Druitt. Also known as Aleister Chambers. He graduated from medical school but has never gone into practice. Lately, he has thrown several parties in his home. But behind the scenes at the same soirées are secret gatherings only his intimates may attend." Sebastian told us.
"I've heard that he's into black magic and those are cults sorts of things." Madame Red said as we pulled into his house...well manor.
"So your suspicion is that he's holding these parties to perform ritualistic sacrifices of local prostitutes?" Lau asked before the carriage came to a stop.
My heart started racing. I knew what I had to do but I was so scared. God I'm gonna have to dance with that creep, aren't I? Sebastian would come save me right? Like he would Ciel? I was hopeful but then I remembered it was just because of the contract. I'm just another of Ciel's pawns in his game of life.
"Tonight is the last party of the season." Ciel said as the carriage door was opened. "Which means this is our last chance." He said stepping out.
