Aviva POV

He...he used my first name. Finally! I don't want any special treatment...but at the same time I kind of do. Whatever. I'll take what I can. I guess it's time to get to work!

"Come on Aviva! I'll help you get dressed, I will!" Mey-rin said before grabbing my wrist and pulling me to our room. She opened her closet.

"Well we only have uniforms in my size, so that will have to do for now, it will!" She said pulling a dress out. It was visibly too big for me.

Mey-rin helped me out of my outfit and into a uniform. It was definitely too big for me. I had to fold the sleeves up a bit. I undid my hair and put it into two braids and Mey-rin put the headband on me.

"You look positively adorable Aviva!" She said hugging me from behind.

"Thank you Mey-rin. But it is big!" I said adjusting the uniform. The shirt fit, but the sleeves were too long. And the skirt was definitely too long for me.

"I'll take you to Sebastian!" She said before grabbing my hands and dragging me to the kitchen. She burst the doors open, making Bard jump.

"I brought her here like you said sir, I did!" She said letting go of my hands.

"Thank you, Mey-rin. Now please go back to your duties." He giving his closed eyes smile.

"Yes sir!" She said before rushing off.

I walked up to Sebastian, excited to help. He took one look at me and frowned. Did I do something wrong already?!

"Now, now. This won't do at all." He said before examining me. It made me very nervous. "This uniform is far too big. I'll inform the master we need to get you fitted." He said before turning back to work on lunch.

I sighed in relief and move my braids behind me so they don't get in the way. "So what's for lunch Sebastian?" I ask rolling up my sleeves more and heading to the sink to wash my hands.

"Well Miss Aviva...I was going to let you decide." He said smirking. This is obviously a test. Dammit. Ok ok I can do this. Start with something simple, something you know. Think back to cooking with Momma. Think of cooking with Nonni. Think of a side dish. Something savoury with something fresh. Something good yet simple, not too ambitious...I've got it!

I go to the fridge and pantry and pull out ingredients. I go to the cupboard and pull out spices.

"Sebastian?" I said quickly turning to the butler.

"Yes, Miss Aviva?" He said still smirking.

"Your services are not required. Please go back to your other duties." I said confidently. He was definitely not expecting that. He was visibly shocked.

"Are you sure?" He said walking up to me. "I can always be of help." He said looking down at me.

"Positive." I said smirking. "Bard and I can manage." I said, getting the chef's attention.

"Hm. Very well Miss Aviva." He said turning to leave. He stopped at the door. "I'll be expecting a call for assistance." He said leaving.

"Don't." I said under my breath. "Bard!" I called.

"Huh?" He said before getting up quickly. "Yeah?" He asked walking to me.

"Start cutting tomatoes and asparagus! I'll start on the chicken." I said putting my hands on my hips.

"Yes ma'am!" He said smiling before turning to work.

"Alright Sebastian." I said turning to the door. "If you think this little test was made to scare me, you ain't seen nothin' yet!" I said confidently, letting a slight southern accent out.

I had more than enough time to make lunch. Enough time to also make a dessert! And dammit Sebastian better be ready to see what I have to offer!

(Skipping to lunch bc lazy and don't want to write cooking)

The instant I finished plating everything on the tray, Sebastian walks in. The kitchen was barely dirty from me and Bard cooking.

Honestly I think Bard would be far more efficient as a sous chef. He did great with me! I think Sebastian puts too much pressure on everyone.

"Miss Aviva I see you have finished in time." He said walking to me.

"Don't be so surprised, Sebastian. As a Phantomhive servant there are standards to live up to." I said giving him a cocky smile.

"I see." He said bending over slightly to me.

"I've written down today's menu for you to tell the young master." I said picking up the tray and handing it to Sebastian. I picked up the list, folded it, and placed it in his tailcoat pocket.

"You would not serve it yourself?" He asked.

"I do not believe I would be so bold as to serve the young lord myself on my first day. Perhaps once I'm gained more experience." I said grinning. "I will however be present when you serve him." I said.

"Very well Miss Aviva. Shall we?" He said adjusting the tray.

"We shall, Sebastian." I said. He turned and I followed him to the dining hall. He opened the doors and walked in. I followed but stayed by the doors.

Sebastian placed the tray down on the table. He placed the plates in front of Ciel.

"Today for lunch we have a lemon pepper roasted chicken with an asparagus and tomato salad. And for dessert a homemade apple pie with hand whipped whipped cream." He said taking the covers off the meal.

I definitely made sure it looked nice. I crossed my fingers behind my back. Hoping, almost praying, he enjoys it. He took his first bite then stopped. My heart was racing a mile a minute.

"Sebastian." He said. I was practically shaking.

"Yes master?" He said.

"This is....really good." He said before looking up at the butler. "What did you do?" He asked before going back to eating. I honestly felt like crying. He likes it. He really likes it!!

"Actually my young lord, this was all Miss Aviva's doing." He explained smiling. He almost looked....proud?

Ciel's eyes widened and he turned to me. "And Bard, my lord." I said. He became visibly surprised.

"Bard?!" He said shocked.

"Yes my young master." I said trying to contain my excitement.

"I must have you cook for me more often, Aviva." He said before going back to eat. "You can go now." He said without looking up.

I left and ran to the kitchen.
