Third person POV

Of course, Aviva had spaced out. Meanwhile, Sebastian had painted two circle targets and one silhouette target.

"Miss Aviva, are you ready?" He called over to her. She was staring at the ground in front of her. He sighed and walked over to her. He waved his hand in front of her face. No response. Sebastian sighed and kneeled beside her. He gently took her chin and made her face him. "Aviva." He said. She looked at him surprised.

"Oh, hi Sebastian!" She said wide-eyed. "Is it time to start?" She asked. He sighed and nodded. "I spaced out again, didn't I?" She asked.

"Yes, you did." Sebastian said smiling. He stood up and offered his hand. Aviva took it and stood up. He took her over and stood her about 30 ft away from the first target. "Here." Sebastian said handing her bullets. Aviva reluctantly took them and he showed her how to load them. She looked at the gun in her hands and frowned. "Is everything alright, Miss Aviva?" Sebastian asked, looking down at her. She nodded without looking up.

"I just...I never thought this would be how I learned how to handle a gun." She said staring at the weapon in her hands. Sebastian put his hand on her shoulder and she looked up at him.

"I'll teach you how to properly handle a firearm and then maybe I can find you something more equipped for close combat." He said. She smiled lightly.

"Thanks, Sebastian." She said.

Sebastian taught her the basics of how to shoot. Aviva stood with her arms up, aimed at the target. She blushed when she felt Sebastian's arms around her. He adjusted her stance then stepped back.

"Ready?" Sebastian asked her and she nodded. "Fire." He said sternly. Aviva shot and hit the middle ring. She stepped back surprised. Sebastian was just as surprised. "Well done, Miss Faye." He said. Aviva retook her stance. "Again." Sebastian said and she fired. She got closer to the middle. "Again." He said and she fired. She kept getting closer. "Again." Sebastian said and she shot the middle circle. He smirked. "You're a natural shot, Aviva." He said. She stepped back and smiled brightly. He called her by her name, no 'Miss.' "Would you like to continue or would you like me to find you something new?" He asked.

"I think I've got a handle on this. Let's try something new. Oh, but could I have some more bullets please?" She asked. Sebastian smiled and nodded and handed her some ammo. He walked back inside. Aviva turned back to targets. She aimed at the silhouette and started shooting at it while moving to stand directly facing it. She didn't know, but Ciel had been watching Aviva and Sebastian. He was impressed and decided she would be by Sebastian's side protecting him.

Sebastian walked outside, carrying a box, to find Aviva shooting at the silhouette target. He smiled devilishly. She ran out of bullets and lowered the gun. She tried to do the gun-spin-then holster move but ended up completely dropping the gun. Sebastian laughed and Aviva turned around and blushed. She scratched the back of her head and laughed nervously. Sebastian walked over to her and opened the box. Aviva looked in and saw knives.

"Throwing knives?" Aviva asked looking up at Sebastian.

"And some short swords." He said.

Aviva POV

Great! Swords. Ok Aviva. Years of watching Star Wars and Lord of the Rings have prepared you for this moment.

"Why don't we start with the throwing knives?" Sebastian said putting down the short swords. He walked over and stood next to me. "You may throw at will, Miss Aviva." He said lowering the box so I could reach it better. I moved back to a circle target.

Reluctantly, and carefully, I picked up a knife. I turned to the target and took a deep breath. I threw the knife and hit the target on the line between the second and middle ring. Fuck yeah! I looked back up at Sebastian and he was staring at the target, his eyes wide. Now I've really impressed the demon. I picked up another knife and threw it at the target. I just kept throwing until I ran out of knives. When I stopped, the middle ring was barely visible between the knives.

Whenever I wanted to, I could have a good aim. If I cared enough to. I turned to the demon butler next to me. He was still staring at the target. I tapped his shoulder and he turned to me.

"I think I'm ready for the short swords." I told him. He nodded and I took the box from him. He turned to go get the swords and I went to the target. I pulled out the knives and placed them in the box. I picked one up and looked at it. Something told me to keep one on me so I carefully slid it in my sleeve. I closed the box and walked over to Sebastian. I put the box on the ground and Sebastian gave me a short sword. I had to be careful since I still had the throwing knife in my sleeve.

Ciel POV

I had been watching my new maid long enough to know she needs to be by my side. I was very interested to see where this would go. She does have good aim, I was impressed. I quietly opened my window to try hear them. Sebastian helped Aviva with her stance and he stood in front of her. He counted down from three. I noticed she waited for him to strike first. They kept going and she was very hesitant to strike him. She was moving defensively. Did she not want to hurt him? If she knows what he is she surely must know how much he can take.

"You're holding back Aviva." Sebastian said, not stopping.

"Am I?" She asked. "I hadn't noticed." She said. She looks nervous.

"If I'm going to train you properly, Miss Faye." Sebastian said before grabbing her arm and pulling her too him. That seemed to frighten her. "You're going to have to give your all." He said pulling his sword up to her neck. She nodded nervously and he let go of her.

They retook their stances and Sebastian counted down again. This time she was quicker to block him. As I watched them spar I noticed she became more confident and began striking back. And with that Sebastian really went at her. Her dodging was more active and she really started hitting back. I saw Sebastian grin devilishly. His strikes became stronger and he started forcing Aviva backwards. She didn't fight it and moved back.

After a minute, Aviva started moving around him. He kept him spinning around to face her. But Sebastian stopped her and forced the sword out of her hands. He raised his to her throat. Finally it's over. It was about time. I was about to go back to work but Aviva did something Sebastian nor I would ever have expected. She pulled a knife out of her sleeve, stabbed Sebastian's forearm, grabbed his sword, and put it under his chin. We both just stared at her in shock. Sebastian's eyes were wider than I've ever seen them. He stared at the knife in his arm and Aviva lowered her sword. She apologised for his coat and shirt and stabbed her sword into the ground. She grabbed the box of throwing knives and walked back inside.
