Aviva POV

I walked into the dining room carrying the young master's dinner. I placed it on the table in front of him.

"For dinner tonight, young master, we have an Irish lamb stew accompanied with a mint salad." I said before stepping back.

I heard a crash of thunder and jumped a mile. I looked outside and it started storming. "Young master would you please excuse me?" I said still looking outside. He looked at me, nodded, and I ran to the kitchen. I grabbed some apples and carrots and made my way to the stables. By the time I made it to the stables, I was soaked. The horses were very restless. Honestly, I don't blame them. I started walking around, trying to calm everyone down.

I made my rounds calming everyone down and giving them apples and carrots. Ajax was my last stop as always. He was the most freaked out by the storm. I was pretty freaked out too. I opened his stable door and walked in. I managed to get him to lay down. I sat down with him to try and calm him down.

Third person POV

It was 11 o'clock. Mey-rin was sitting up in her bed, worried. Aviva still hadn't come to bed. She put a robe over her nightgown and went straight to the library. She quietly opened the doors and couldn't see her anywhere. She ran to Sebastian's room and knocked on the door. The door opened to a shirtless Sebastian and Mey-rin quickly covered her bleeding nose.

"Yes, Mey-rin?" He asked.

"Have you seen Aviva?" She asked. "She never came to bed and she wasn't in the library." She said. Sebastian sighed and hung his head.

"I'll be out in a moment." He said before closing the door. "I swear, it's like she wants me to put a leash on her." Sebastian said putting a shirt on. "Though it is tempting." He said to himself before leaving his room. "Come. Let's check to music room." He told Mey-rin before they ran off. He opened the doors and couldn't see her. He ran to the blue chair by the window and turned it around.

"Dammit." He said to himself. "I'll keep looking for her, Mey-rin. You try and get some sleep." He told her. She nodded and went back to her room. Sebastian sighed and put his hand on his head. There was a flash of lightning and a crash of thunder and he looked out the window. "I swear if she even thought of going outside." He said to himself before running out of the manor.

It was still storming. He ran to the stables. The horse she nicknamed Ajax wasn't in view. He pulled the stable door open and saw Aviva asleep next to the horse. She was pale and shivering. Sebastian pulling the door open woke Ajax. He went to go pick up Aviva and Ajax did not like that. He moved his head over Aviva protectively. He sighed and tried again. Ajax stopped him again. He tried not to get angry but was definitely frustrated. He tried again but moved very slowly and managed to pick her up. Ajax stood up and Sebastian left with Aviva.

The blasting rain didn't affect Aviva. She was in a deep sleep. He brought her inside and took her to her room. He covered his eyes and changed her. She was freezing. He brought her an extra blanket and lit the fireplace in their room. He walked back to her and knelt beside her bed.

"How can you make me worry? How can you make me feel at all?" He said tucking her in. He sighed then went back to his room.

Aviva POV

I tried to open my eyes but they felt glued shut. Oh my god, my head. Oh my god, my throat. No, I can't be sick! I have to get up and work. I tried to pull myself out of bed. I stood up but quickly fell to the floor. It woke Mey-rin up.

"Aviva?" She said before getting out of bed to help me. She put her hand on my forehead. "You're burning up, you are! You need to stay in bed." She said helping me up.

"No." I protested, barely making a sound. My throat hurts too much. "I have to...work." I managed to force out. She put me back to bed. I was too weak to fight.

"You stay in bed. I'll get Sebastian." She said before running off. My eyelids are so heavy. I quickly went back to sleep. It wasn't long until Mey-rin came back in with Sebastian and I woke back up. He came over to me and knelt beside me.

Sebastian POV

"Good, you're awake. Now I can scold you." I said before putting my hand on her forehead. Very high fever. "You are absolutely burning. What were you thinking? Going out in that weather?" I asked sternly.

"I...I had to make sure...Ajax..." She said. I stopped her. She went to make sure he was ok. She got herself sick over a damn horse. "I'll be back. I have to wake the young master and bring him breakfast. Don't you even think of leaving this bed." I told her sternly.

"Yes, sir." She said weakly. I put my hand on her head then left to perform my morning duties.

Third person POV

Mey-rin felt guilty about leaving Aviva, but she insisted. Sebastian had Bard immediately get started on soup. He wasn't wasting any time. Before going back to Ciel, Sebastian ran to the library and grabbed the books he knew Aviva would like. He walked back in to find her asleep. He put the books on her nightstand but kept Utopia on him. Word spread through the manor that Aviva was sick. Bard had the soup ready by lunch. He brought up a tray of soup for her and stayed with her while she ate.

"Feel better, kid." He said patting her head She thanked him before he left.

She went back to reading but fell asleep in the middle of the Taming of the Shrew. Finny came in later and left a vase of yellow roses on her nightstand. Ciel had a lot of paperwork so he let Sebastian go take care of Aviva. He made her some tea and brought up on a tray and put Utopia on it. He walked to Aviva's room and knocked before opening, waking her up.

"Hi Sebastian!" She said hoarsely.

"Hello Miss Aviva. I see Finnian has visited." He said walking to her. She looked at her nightstand and got so excited when she saw the flowers. She smiled brightly and picked a rose out and touched the petals.

"I see you like yellow roses." Sebastian said sitting on her bedside.

"I do. But sunflowers are my favourite." She said looking up from the flower. She looked down and saw the tray and smiled. "You brought me tea. And Utopia!" She said sitting up.

"I did." Sebastian said handing her the tea. He leaned over and put his hand on her forehead. "Your fever has gone down. Good." He said taking his hand back. She started drinking the tea and he set the tray down, picking up Utopia. She reached for it but he kept it away. She frowned, confused. "You rest. I'll read it to you." He said opening the book. "Is there a specific section you would like me to start with?" He asked her.

Aviva POV

I smiled sweetly. "Of their Trades and Manner of Life, please." I said hoarsely. He started to read and I continued drinking. It's like my face was stuck in a smile. For a demon, he was...really sweet. I know demons can't love so there's no way that's what this was. Could he be...no he wouldn't do that to me..would he? Deep down I was scared he was just playing with me. Messing with my emotions. Just building me up for painful heartbreak. I shook the thought off and just listened. His voice was so smooth and calming. It was almost hypnotic. I finished my tea and put the cup on my nightstand. He got pretty far until I fell asleep. I couldn't help it. I didn't want to sleep, but his voice just put me out.
