Chapter 11: First Guests

Aviva POV

I woke up back in my bed. Was last night a dream?  Can't go assuming it was a dream. Learned that the hard way! I looked at the clock. Shit! It's almost noon! I basically flailed myself out of bed and landed on the floor with a thud.

"Ow...Dammit why didn't anyone wake me?!" I said scrambling to my feet. I ran to the closet and quickly put on the large maid's uniform. I have yet to be fitted.

I went to the mirror. Jeez I look awful. My eyes were less swollen, but still swollen none the less. Some of the bandages on my face were coloured with little spots of dry blood. I went to the bathroom, took off the dirty bandages, and looked at the cuts. Huh...they were almost completely healed.

I washed my face and tried to bring the swelling down. It was barely effective. I sighed and put my hair into two low buns before placing the headband on. I was about to run to get to work but realised I wasn't wearing shoes. I groaned and quickly put on my boots. It felt like I was never going to get to work.

I ran out of the room, looked around for anyone, then ran off to find Mey-rin. She should know why no one woke me. After turning a corner I ran right into her. We both fell on our asses and she dropped all her laundry. I certainly startled her, but she realised who ran into her and quickly got excited.

"Oh Aviva, I'm so glad to see you're up!" She said before helping me to my feet.

"Hey Mey-rin. Sorry about that!" I said before laughing lightly. "Why didn't anyone wake me?" I asked her. I'm sure there was plenty of work to be done around the manor. Why not utilise the new maid?

"Oh Sebastian said to let you sleep in after last night, he did." She explained.

"Last night? Did something happen?" I asked, thoroughly bamboozled.

"You dont remember?" She asked. I shook my head. "Sebastian found you asleep in the library. I woke up and didn't see you and got worried. Sent us on a wild goose chase, you did." She said.

Well shit. It wasn't a dream. "Us?" I'm guessing she meant her and Sebastian.

"Yeah all of us! You really gave us all a scare! Tanaka got up to look. Ciel even ordered Sebastian and all of us to find you, he did!" She said excited.

"You all looked for me?" I wanted to cry. God why do I cry so much. They all got up to look for me. They all got up. I felt...wanted. "Wait then how did I get back in bed?" I asked.

"Oh Sebastian put you back in bed, he did!" She said before starting to pick up the laundry. Sebastian put me back. He carried me from the library back to bed. I had to thank him.

"Where's Sebastian now, Mey-rin?" I asked, bending down to help her.

"He's in the salon, he is! We've got guests." She said, both of us standing up.

"Guests?! Dammit I could've helped!" I said jogging to the kitchen. "Thanks Mey-rin!" I shouted behind me, waving.

I ran down the hall passing rooms. I didn't even notice the room with the guests until-

"Aviva!" I stopped, a bit confused. I walked back to find who called me and turns out I completely missed the salon with several people in it. I'm guessing Ciel called for me.

"Did you call me, young master?" I asked, poking my head through the doorway. I saw a certain raven haired butler, three guests, and a certain butler incompetent beyond belief. To be fair he's a better reaper than butler; but not that much better.

"I did." He motioned for me to come in. I walked in slowly, I was definitely nervous. Sebastian looked back at me and I gave a small smile before standing next to him.

"Aviva meet my aunt, Madam Red." He said motioned towards his aunt. I knew well who she was and was scared for Ciel. "And that is Lau." He said referring to the man on the couch. That girl...sitting on him must be Ran Mau.

"My lady." I said giving a small curtesy. "Sir." I said slightly bowing my head.

"Madam Red this is my new maid, Aviva." Ciel said.

"She's quite cute Ciel. I might steal her from you." She said teasingly. I blushed light and took a small step behind Sebastian and put my hands behind my back.

"Aviva you may go now." Ciel said without looking up from his chair.

"Yes, my lord." I said bowing my head. I smiled at Sebastian and left the room. I decided to head to the kitchen, hoping to see Bard. Before I could even start walking I saw my three new friends running down the hall. Is Finny...dressed as a cat?!

"Aviva!" Finny said skidding to a stop.

"Hiya Finny. Bard. Mey-rin. What's uh...what's going on here?" I said looking at the three of them.

"The rats are at it again, they are." Mey-rin said looking down in defeat.

"So we're trying to catch them!" Finny said as cheery as ever.

"And how is that going?" I asked them, knowing fully well the answer. They all laughed nervously.

"Please be careful-!" I told them but was quickly cut off as they noticed a rat and ran after it...screaming.

I put my hands over my face and shook my head. Those three I swear. Honestly, bless their hearts. I heard the door to the salon door open and Ciel stepped out.

"Hello, young master." I said smiling.

"Sebastian told me the dessert is ready. Please bring it to my study with my tea." He said before walking off.

I put my hand over my chest. "Yes, my lord." I said bowing my head.
