Fluff.
Also imma start putting quotes that I like at the beginning of each chapter. 💛
Also I keep describing it as the house, but it's really eddies house but his mom just isn't home but I'm not going to rewrite it.

"Just know that I'm all right. I am not afraid to die." -unknown.

"Richieee," Eddie whined from the couch I had left him laying on. "Where are you going?"
I smiled at him, taking in his beautiful face. "Honey I have to go to school," I explained to him gently.
"Why?" He asked, coughing hard. His eyes burned with fever, and I began to worry about leaving him home alone, but I shook it off.
"I've gotta get your work," I told him. "And besides baby, I gotta try and learn."
He coughed a laugh. "That's a nice joke Chee," he chuckled.
I, fakely, acted offended. "I'm wounded Eds."
He chuckled, bringing around a fit of coughs that shook his tiny frame violently.
The smile fell from my face. "Do ya want me to stay here with you Eddie?" I asked, dropping down beside the couch to where we were eye level.
He shook his head. "No, I'll be ok." He smiled weakly.
I bit my lip, but finally decided to go to school.
"Ok. I love you. Do you want me to come here at lunch?"
He shook his head. "I love you too, but I'll be ok. I promise. Now go, you're gonna be late."
I stayed where I was for another moment, placing my hand in his hair and pressing my lips against his burning forehead. "Bye Eds," I whispered.
"Bye Chee," he mumbled back; his eyes fluttered closed.
With that, I stood up and walked out the front door.

School was immensely boring without the love of my life, but I was able to collect all his work.
"I'm s-sorry to hear he's s-sick," Bill stuttered at lunch.
I felt myself shrug. "It's not your fault. It's probably whatever fucking meds his crazy mom put him on."
Bev nodded her head in agreement. "You're not wrong. Can't some medicine weaken your immune system?"
"Probably," Stanley And Ben said at the same time, which caused us all to laugh.
The rest of the day passed by in a blur, until I was finally on the bus headed home.
I plugged my headphones into my Walkman, putting Queen's A Night at the Opera.
Freddie Mercury's voice filled my head, and before I knew it I was listening to the album for a third time in a row.
Finally, I was home. I fumbled with the keys in the door, but it finally swung open.
"Eds I'm home!" I called out.
I was met with silence and darkness. "Eddie?"
I walked into the kitchen, then the living room where I had left Eddie earlier. He wasn't there; I began panicking.
I rushed into his room, and found his bed still made. I checked his bathroom next, and my heart stopped.
He was laying on the floor, unconscious.
"Eddie!" I shrieked.
He didn't move. I dropped to my knees, cupping his face in my hands, which was cold.
"Eddie! Eddie, wake up!" I cried.
I shook him gently, his head rolling back. Sobbing, I checked for a pulse. I sighed in relief when I found it, but it was weak.
     "S-stay right here baby!"
I ran into the kitchen, sliding hard into the counter. I grabbed the house phone, dialing 911.
     "911, what's your emergency?"
I told the operator everything, and within three minutes an ambulance was headed to the house. Then I dialed Bev.
     "Hello?"
     "Bev," I sobbed.
     "Rich? What's wrong?"
     "It's-it's Eddie!"
I told her everything that had happened, and she agreed to meet me at the hospital.
"Do you want me to pick you up?"
"N-no, ill ride with Eddie." I heard sirens in the distance. "I'll see you in a bit."
I watched numbly as the emt's walked into Eddie's house and into the bathroom where he laid.
I watched as they brought him out on a stretcher and into the ambulance.
I watched as they placed an oxygen mask over his button nose and an IV in his arm.
I watched as one of the emts walked back inside to me, and helped me into the ambulance.
All I could do was watch.

I sat in the hospital room with Eddie, watching his heart monitor move steadily up and down with his heartbeat. The rest of the Losers Club stopped by; Bev had told them everything I told her.
They had to leave though. Visiting hours were only until 10 p.m.  I was only allowed to stay because I was his boyfriend and his mother wasn't in town.
Sighing, I walked over to the fake leather green recliner in Eddie's room, and kicked back for the long night.
"Night Eds, I love you. I'll see you in the morning..."
I buried my head into the hospital pillow, and sobbed myself to sleep.
