"I'm not like other people. I am burning in hell. The hell of myself." —
Dixot

Beep beep beep the harsh screeching noise was the first thing I heard, then the soft snores I knew so well.
I tried to open my mouth to speak, but my lips felt glued together. My head was throbbing and my throat was dry. I felt like hell.
     Beep beep beep
I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing head.
I heard shuffling near me, but I couldn't open my eyes, or move for that matter. I felt a sharp pain in my arm, before my head finally decided to shut up.
     BEEP BEEP BEEP
I woke up, breathing hard, my eyes finally flying open. I gasped for breath, squinting in the harsh fluorescent light.
I looked over to see the love of my life curled up asleep in an ugly green chair. His glasses were askew on his face, and his eyes looked puffy.
"Rich-chee?" I mumbled quietly, my voice cracking horribly.
His eyes shot open in an instant. "Oh my god, baby are you ok?" He came over and sat on my bed, cupping my face.
"What-What happened Chee?" I asked, wracking my brain to the events of the day before.
He looked at me sadly. "You were sick. Like, really sick. And I-I left you," he sniffled.
I didn't believe him. "Chee," I whispered, grabbing and squeezing his hands gently. "I'm sure you didn't mean to."
Tears were now streaming down his face. "You p-p-promised that you'd be o-ok," he cried.
I bit my lip. "I am now though," I breathed.
     "I know. I know."
I wrapped me up in a tight hug, and I placed my head on the crook of Richie's neck and shoulder. I closed my eyes, sighing in content.
"I love you," I whispered in his ear.
"I love you too. I'm so happy you're ok," he whispered back.
A knock on the door made us leap apart, and we both looked at each other terrified for a moment.
"Uh, c-come in," I called out.
A man in a white coat came in. "Hallo Mr. Kasparak. I'm doctor Scott, how are you feeling?" Doctor Scott asked me.
I nodded my head. "I'm good. I feel a lot better," I told him honestly.
"Good, that's very good. Now, we'd like to keep you for just a little while longer, but you can leave around noon."
I nodded again. "Ok. Thanks doc."

The few hours crept by slowly, but I was finally free to go, after I got the medicine I was prescribed.
Richie walked out beside me. "Do you wanna go grab a bite to eat?" He asked. "I'll take you home after."
I smiled. "Yeah, if you don't mind."
He smiled back down at me. "My pleasure Eds."
We walked a few blocks down to a diner called Diner by the Sea, even though we were nowhere near the sea.
We walked in and were seated quickly. I ordered banana pancakes; Richie ordered a cheeseburger and a strawberry shake for us to split.
When we finished, Richie insisted on paying.
"You know I have money right?"
"Eddie, honey, it's my treat, ok?" He asked, ruffling my hair.
I blushed and looked down. "Okay Chee."
     We walked into my house.
"Stay with me for a bit Chee?" I asked him.
     "Of course baby," he whispered.
I motioned him over to my room, and we walked inside. "Will you lay with me for a few minutes?"
He nodded, and we both collapsed onto my bed.
"I love you Chee," I breathed, before my eyes closed and I was fast asleep.
