Ethos

"Mind telling us why the hell you can fly all of a sudden!?" Matthew yelled. We were back at my place after the fight. "Don't you think that would've been really important!?"
"Shut the hell up and let me say something!" I barked back. I explained to them about the whole temple and prophecy. "I reinforced my armor with the old armor and a voice told me he gave me flight. So I jumped off my roof and wings sprouted out and that's what saved your asses!"
"I will give you more abilities in time." A voice said. "I will give you all abilities my children had but you'll need the armor."
We all spun around to see a man. "Your Ethos." I said.
"That I am." The man said. He was the human world Ethos, a tall man with a black beard and well dressed. "Excellent performance out there *****. You definitely fought like what your namesake is. Gamer name, middle name and first name."
"Thank you Ethos." I said. "Could you um give these guys they're abilities?"
"They need the armor." He said. "All of you except ***** go reinforce your armor. I'd like to speak with him."
"With all due respect Ethos were not-" Wyatt said.
"All of you go." I interrupted. They all left and I was alone with Ethos. "Why don't you fight with us? We could destroy the Titans and Erebus in a matter of hours!"
"Ancient laws I'm afraid. And if I break them I'm no better than my brother." He said with a sigh. "And as in for the question your thinking no I'm not God. God made me and my brother as very powerful beings. When my brother did what he did, God made me to be ruler for this world in a pocket dimension. God and devil for the human world and Ethos and Erebus for this world."
"Ok that doesn't hurt my head as much now. Thought I'd have to change my beliefs." I said.
"Now when your friends awaken tomorrow with they're armor they will have all they're abilities. They just won't know them all yet." He said.
"Long as they have them." I said. "And as in for me?"
"You may have yours now if you wish." He said. "Do you want your powers?"
"Yes. I want the power to destroy my enemies and save the ones I love." I said.
"Let the games begin." Ethos said. "I give your reign over shadows, space, natural disasters and darkness. You will be able to travel by shadows and move objects through them. You will be able to make shadows around your enemies that consume them and you can open black holes but these take much energy. You can cause all forms of natural disasters. You can manipulate the darkness and shadows to your command and finally, those this is not recommended you may bring back the dead to fight for you as spectral shades."
"And these are what I will need to defeat the Titans and Erebus?" I asked.
"You cannot defeat them alone. That's what your friends here are for." Ethos said.
"So what of they're abilities?" I asked.
"Matthew can command any sea animal to do his bidding and summon them, he can command hurricanes, water and all properties of it. Cayden can make fire erupt from nowhere, control lava, can command light and can also sprout wings like you. Charles can command all electrical items to do what he needs, shoot kinetic energy, create explosions and has control over metals. Wyatt can summon bolts of lightning, cause thunderstorms to bend to his will and can send out lightning all around him."
"Why us? We're only teenagers." I asked.
"Because Erebus wishes to release the Titans and bring a end to us all." He said.
"Not if I can help it." I said. "Thank you Ethos. We will not fail. "
"For yours and all of our sakes I hope you don't." He said. "Goodbye ***** and good luck." And with that he vanished.
I collapsed on my chair. All this responsibility. All the pressure and lives that counted on us. What if we failed? What if Matthew, Cayden, Wyatt, Charles and I failed? Everyone would die.
Wait what happened to Ashley? What if she got hurt earlier? That quickly got my mind off of things. I ran to my balcony and willed my wings to come out. I jumped off and started flying to check the wounded and see if she was ok.
I flew by her house after I checked the wounded. I decided to see fly by and see if she was ok. I landed on her balcony and looked through the window. She was ok. Thank god she was ok.
I jumped off the balcony and flew back to my palace. I landed and walked to my room. I collapsed in my bed and fell asleep. Tomorrow would be a day of repair and treating the injured.
