Roslyn's POV
Jeremy and I open the door to see the pizza guy. "Hey. It's gonna be $22" he tells us.
"Elena we need the money!" I call.
"Uh come in, just place it on the table" Jeremy tells the guy. Jeremy and I then go to the dining room to get the plates out. Along with glasses and the coke. Elena soon joins us with the paid pizza and we all dig in. "Hi Roslyn, I'm getting my grade tomorrow for my paper. Can you come with me to get it?" he asks me. Elena had gone to do the dishes.
"Sure thing cuz, I'm sure you aced it. If you do, I want to meet this girl you're talking about" I tell him.
"Sure" he says smiling as Elena returns from doing the dishes.
(Next day, Alaric's classroom)
"Hi Mr Saltzman, we're here for Jeremy's grade" I tell him smiling. Alaric smiles and hands Jeremy his graded paper. I look at it to see Jeremy got an A. "I'm so proud of you cuz" I say hugging him.
"Surprised? It's a good essay. Your thoughts are clear, and your argument is well laid out. It's just, uh, you don't actually think there are vampires in Mystic Falls?" Alaric asks him and I frown. Vampire's, what's he talking about? I then see the title and hide my shock. Jeremy did his history essay on vampires.
"No. I mean, I think statistically there's been more animal attacks, mysterious deaths, uh, people gone missing, more than any other place in the whole commonwealth of Virginia" Jeremy explains.
"It's conjecture, but creative, which is why you got the 'A.' I just wouldn't get too, uh, caught up in the whole conspiracy theory of it all" Alaric tells Jeremy.
"I won't" Jeremy assures him.
"Oh, uh, Jeremy, the source that you cited for the 1860s info, uh, Johnathan Gilbert...?" Alaric asks him.
"Oh my anscetor's journal?" Jeremy asks.
"I'd really like to see that sometime" Alaric tells him.
"It is a really fascinating read" I tell him smiling.
"Really?" Jeremy asks him.
"A first-person account of the Civil War? That's like, uh, porn for a history teacher" Alaric tells him. Jeremy takes the journal from his bag and hands it to Alaric.
"You think my essay's creative, wait till you get a load of this thing" Jeremy tells him. Alaric thanks him and we leave. "So what now?" he asks me.
"Celebrate by a game of pool at the grill?" I suggest.
"I'll beat you this time" he tells me.
"Dream on" I tell him smiling and we run to the grill. As we play a girl Jeremy's age approaches us.
"So, how'd it go?" she asks him.
"What?" he asks her.
"The paper" she tells him.
"Oh. I got an A.' Thanks for the articles. They really helped" he tells her smiling.
"So you're Anna" I say smiling and go around the table. "I'm Roslyn, Jeremy's cousin. Thank you so much with helping him find those articles" I tell her.
"Nice to meet you" she says shaking my hand. "So what'd he say about the vampires? Did he believe it?" she asks Jeremy.
"I don't even believe it. It's just a paper, Anna" Jeremy tells her.
"Anyways, we gotta get going" I remind Jeremy and he agrees. Anna stops Jeremy asking if they can hang out later.
"Uh, sorry. I'm stuck on punch duty at the school dance" he tells her.
