S02E26: Memory Lane

Roslyn's POV

I arrived at Caroline's and went in through her window. "This had better be important Care" I state.

"Oh it's important" someone says from behind me and I turn to see Katherine. I growl standing in front of Caroline. "Take a seat Roslyn or I'll kill you for real this time" she tells me. I sit down beside Caroline knowing she is right. "Now the three of us are going to have so much fun" she says smiling.

"What do you want Katherine?" I demand.

"I want time alone with Stefan, you two are going to occupy Elena. I'll tell you the night before so you can think of a plan. Also tell anyone about this then I'll kill Matt and Tyler. See you girls later" she says and leaves.

"I'm sorry Roslyn, she threatened me" Care tells me.

"It's fine, we won't let her hurt anyone. We just keep this a secret until we can get rid of her" I assure her. She nods her head and I leave.

(Four days later)

Today mum is throwing a barbecue for Mason, to welcome him back into town. It is also the day Katherine wants Caroline and I to occupy Elena. So I convinced mum to let Caroline join us for the barbecue. "Thanks for letting me invite Caroline. She could use a day of distraction" I tell mum as we prepare snacks.

"Well, she's not the plus one I'm worried about. Why is Damon coming?" she asks me.

"Because Alaric is a pity taker, please be nice" I say.

"I'll be nice when Damon keeps his paws off Elena" she tells me. Just then Mason enters the room with shot glasses and a bottle of alcohol.

" Good news! I found the shot glasses!" he announces.

"That's my cue to leave, see you when food is ready" I tell them. I go outside where Caroline is talking to Elena. While holding a bowl of chips. I go over and nick a few chips. "So what are you both talking about?" I ask curious.

"Stefan, he hasn't called me back. I'm trying to decide if I should be worried" Elena states.

"I'm sure he's fine" I assure her.

"Caroline said the same thing" she states.

"Then relax" we tell her smiling.

"Hey! Food's ready, come get it" Alaric says coming outside.

"Great, I'm starving" Care says and we all go inside. We eat then Damon suggested be play Pictionary which Mason is winning. Elena had left to go get plates for the peach cobbler.

"Dress! Ballerina!" mum shouts.

"Puppy! Puppy with a tutu!" Care shouts.

"No no" Damon says.

"Dog! Hound Dog!" mum shouts.

"You ain't nothing but a hound dog" I sing.

"Dance with wolves" Mason states.

"Mason wins, again" Damon declares.

"How is that a wolf?" Mum and I demand. He doesn't answer goes to help Elena and mum soon followed. They soon returned with the peach cobbler and plates. The knife in it one of grandma's silver knives from her knife set.

"Mason, why don't you start us off?" Damon suggests.

"Sure" he says and grabs a slice ignoring the knife. He then looks at all of us. "I apologize, I'm an animal" he tells us.

"So Mason, you and Jenna never dated?" Alaric asks him.

"She was always lost in Logan Fell land" Mason answers.

"Mason was a catch; he had girls lining up" mum adds.

"Really? I always pegged you for a lone wolf" Damon states.

"I'm sure I wasn't half the lady killer you were. How about a toast? To new friends" Mason says and they clink glasses. I leave to go see where Care and Elena are. They're in the hallway.

"Would I be the worst friend in the world if I abandoned you and went to Stefan's?" Elena asks Caroline.

"You want to leave?" I ask announcing my presence.

"I don't think that's a good idea, Elena" Caroline adds.

"Damon's got it under control here" Elena tells us.

"Take it from me, there's nothing worse than a clingy girlfriend" Care tells her.

"You'd know that" I say teasingly and she gives me a playful glare.

"I'm not being clingy, I'm just concerned. You both understand, right?" Elena asks us.

"How about the three of us go?" I suggest.

"I'll drive" Caroline offers.

"Yeah, okay, that'll be great, thanks" Elena says smiling. We all go outside and they get into Caroline's car. I pretend the drop something and crouch down by a tire. I deflate a tire and get into the car.

We're driving and the tire bursts. "Oh crap" Care says. She pulls over and calls a tow service. But we're still waiting when nightfall's, Katherine had better be finished with Stefan.

"Are you sure the tow's coming? We've been waiting forever" Elena states.

"I know, it's weird. They said they'd be here by now" Care tells her.

"We can just walk from here" Elena tells us.

"Caroline can't leave her car" I state. Suddenly the tow truck arrives.

"There's the tow, I'm gonna walk" Elena tells us and Care grabs her arm.

"No Elena, don't" Care tells her.

"Caroline, you're hurting me" Elena states and I make Care let her go.

"Don't leave us alone" Care pleads.

"What's wrong with you two?" she asks us.

"Hey there, someone called about a flat tire?" the tow guy asks.

"She did" Elena states pointing to Care before leaving.

"Care I have to go after her, meet you at the grill later?" I ask and she nods her head. I run after Elena at a human pass. I arrive at the boarding house as Katherine leaves. I gulp and go to run, but she appears in front of me. "Katherine, I was about to text you" I tell her.

"Care to share how you and Caroline couldn't follow through with one simple task?" she asks me.

"We tried, we couldn't kidnap her" I tell her.

"Occupy her, that's all I asked" she reminds me.

"We occupied her all day" I retort. "Caroline told her that her relationship was doomed and all that mortality stuff. I think Care got to her" I state.

"I hope so because let's not forget. I already killed you both once; I can easily do it again" she reminds me before disappearing. I run to the grill to inform Caroline of my encounter with Katherine. Elena soon arrives and comes over to us.

"Oh my god. I am so sorry about earlier today. I don't know what came over me" Caroline tells her.

"Same Elena, I'm sorry" I tell her.

"It's okay, Caroline and Rosie. Everything that you were saying was right. It's just hard for me to hear, you know?" she asks.

"So, you're not mad at us?" Care asks her.

"You were just being a good friend and cousin...in your own ways" Elena assures us.

"My own head case, horrible way. Elena, I really am sorry" Care states. Elena smiles and go over to Stefan. Caroline and I listen in pretending to be doing something else. Elena and Stefan practically break up, I feel guilty. I decide to sleep over at Caroline's and send mum a text. She said it was fine and to behave.
