S02E24: Brave New World

Roslyn's POV

I woke up a little disorientated until I remember what happened. Katherine killed me, but now I'm alive. Of course, I must of had vampire blood in my system. That's why I was healing so quickly and why I'm alive now. I'm in transition. I look up to see Caroline escorted back into our room by Nurse Haynes.

I remember Katherine said she'd do to me what she did to Caroline. That means Caroline also had vampire blood in her system and is now in transition. I have to help her. The nurse leaves and Care takes out a blood bag. I suddenly smell it and become hungry.

She drinks but she doesn't like it and, disgusted, throws the bag on my bed. I take it take a sip. She looks at me and the bag looking hungry. "We share, and find more in the morning. I'll explain everything Care" I assure her. She nods her head and we finish the bag between us. We wash up and go to bed.

"Roslyn, I'm scared" Caroline says.

"It'll be ok Care, Stefan will help us" I assure her. "Just sleep now and all will be clear tomorrow" I add. Tomorrow is carnival day. She relaxes and goes to sleep, I follow suit.

(Next day)

It's morning and there is a little light coming from the window. The curtains are mostly drawn, but some sunlight still shines through. Caroline was testing putting her hand into the rays. "I wouldn't" I tell her. But she does it anyway and burns herself. She immediately pulls her hand back. "Told you so, do you remember anything?" I ask her.

"Yes, we're vampires. Why would Elena do this to us?" she asks me confused.

"That wasn't Elena, it was her doppelgänger Katherine. We'll both crave blood, can't go in sunlight without a day ring and must be invited in. I'll explain more when we're released" I tell her. Suddenly Matt enters with a tray of food.

"Your mum's say your not eating" he states.

"It's gross" Caroline tells him and I nod my head in agreement.

"It's hospital food; it's supposed to be gross" he tells us with a gentle smile. Placing the tray on the table between the two beds. He goes to kiss her and she goes to return it. But the sun light stops her. "They also said you both are getting released tomorrow morning" he adds.

"Morning? I need to get out tonight" Care tells him.

"She's been worried about the carnival" I tell him.

"No, the carnival is going to happen without you, Caroline. I know it's hard for your neurotic control freak personality to process but Bonnie and Elena have it" he assures her.

"I'm not neurotic" she tells him annoyed.

"You kind of are a little" I say giggling.

"But it's cute so..." Matt tells her smiling and she relaxes.

"Look, it's not about the carnival okay? It's just that this place is just really depressing" Caroline tells us. I agree, the smell of blood here is driving me crazy.

"It's because you're sitting in the dark" he states going to open the curtains. We protest, but he opens them anyway. Caroline and I both speed to the dark corner away from the light. "What the hell?" he asks us concerned.

"Please close the curtains Matt" I plead.

"What's wrong with you both?" he asks us.

"Close it!" Caroline says firmly. Matt closes the curtains and we both relax.

"I'll just come back later, okay?" he says and leaves. Caroline and I sit on her bed.

"How did you get over to my corner so quickly?" Care asks me.
