My eyes open to the beeping of the heart monitor and soft sound of liquid oxygen turning to gas to travel through the pipes and supplying me through my nostrils.
They were disturbing really. It felt like there was way too much air forced into me then I can take.
I looked to my sides, the windows were open, a vase of bright yellow sunflowers were sitting on the windowsill, the white curtains were tied with black ribbons on either side of the huge window.
I sighed.
Everything hurts. Starting my my head to my balls. Every muscle and bones ached.
My hand weighed as if kilograms as I brought them to the oxygen mask and removed the plastic from my nose.
Now I can breathe. I took long and deep breaths and i felt as if I was alive again.
I turned my head left and right to make the muscle moveable.
I unhooked the canola from my hand and retrieved the heart measuring clip before trying to get up.
I wasn't in the hospital room or in my bedroom. I was in my old bedroom, I recognised from the cars wallpaper and my hot wheel models resting on a wall shelf.
Groaning and twisting I managed to get up. Legs felt wobbly and out of balance as I placed them on the rug covered floor. My whole body screamed in disturbance and I tried to walk forward.
Barely, with my head spinning leg almost giving out, muscles feeling like concrete I managed to walk over to the bathroom.
The reflection I saw made me want to go back to sleep again.
There was an unshaved beard that was as thick as a rose bush. My skin was paler than ever and I had lost an amount of noticeable weight.
I sighed and found a new disposable brush on the vanity cabinet and a tube of toothpaste.
Even opening my mouth felt foreign.
I walked out of the bathroom and rummaged through the dresser finding an old T-shirt.
I pulled it on before leaving the room.
How long have I been in a coma?
How long have I been sleeping?
And where the fuck is everybody?
I walked down the stairs minding the third one that creaked like a bitch.
"Mom?" I called out, my voice was harsh and raspy. "Mama?"
I heard shuffling sounds and a banging sound before mom came, her face scrunched up in confusion as she stood on the kitchen doorway.
"Mum?" I asked again. And by the time I reached her, she was tearing up and flung herself at me. I grabbed her small body and hugged her tight.
