Tuesday.

I heard Ashley's footsteps approach near towards our house so I quickly fixed myself.

"You ready sister?" she chuckled, motioning me to come.
"Mhm, hold on" I said and she nodded.

I went to mom and pecked her cheek.

"Bye ma" I waved.
"Good luck Amanda" she shouted.

Ashley pulls me to the car where I then met Corbyn again.

"Good morning worby" I joked, opening the car door.
"Good morning A" he replied.
"Hey excuse me Amanda I wanna try to sit at the back. You sit beside Corbyn" she smirked.
"Oh, um sure" I shrugged and closed the door when Ashley sits inside.

I sit beside Corbyn and put on aux.

"That's a sad music. We don't need sad things right now, we need energy A" Ashley exclaimed.

Corbyn and I dryly chuckled.

"Sure" I said and pressed the button that will change the music.

The music went more upbeat, signaling Corbyn should start driving us to school.

The bell rings and Corbyn seems like he already knows how the school system work.

Such a smart guy

I meet Ashley at the locker room and she gives me an excited smile.

"Thank gosh you're here A! I have lots of things to talk abouuut!" she tuned, to which I giggled at.
"What's happening?" I gasped.
"You see, there's this guy named Jack on my Science class and let me tell you how hot he looked. Tattoos and stuff! Oh my goodness you just can't— I wanna marry him A" she explained fastly.

I chuckled with her description.

"Avery?" I asked.
"Indeed! You know about him?" she asked with curiosity.
"His sister Sydnie is a friend of mine. But like we're not close" I replied.
"Lucky, you know what I need to be friends with Seniors. Their siblings are hot" she smirked.
"I get what you mean, you're a sister of a senior blah blah" I laughed.

She laughed.

"You just can't imagine how hot he looked. He's just perfect" she sighed, smiling to herself as we walked.
"What will you do when Jordan crushed him with his hands?" I asked in a joking manner.
"Amanda!" she exclaimed.
"I was kidding Ash. Anyway, i'm going Math see you" I said.
"Okay! See you" she waved and skipped happily towards her way.

I watched her walk away and turned around, only to see Corbyn standing infront of me.

"Gosh dang it Corbyn" I sighed, putting my hand on my chest.
"Sorry, anyway i'm going English and since those classrooms are just beside each other why don't we walk together?" he asked.
"No problem" I shrugged and we stepped upstairs.

We occasionally got looks as we were walking very close.

But it was normal.

We're childhood friends, nothing more.

"Guess i'll see you in Science" he said.
"Yeah" I breathed out and shot him a wave before sitting down to my seat.
"Hey Aldis!" a familiar voice of a girl called my last name.

I turned my head to see brown-haired girl with a nose piercing.

"Sydnie right?" I smiled.
"Yeah!" she nodded.
"So what's up?" I asked.
"Well I was just gonna ask you about those two newbies. Are they your friends?" she asked.
"Neighbors, yeah" I nodded.
"Oh, cool cool. Well I thought it'd be fun to invite them at my Halloween party at Friday!" she said, handing me three invitations.
"Knew you would come, right?" she smiled softly.
"Of course! We'll try" I replied.
"Good! We have a few days ahead so you have time to ask for permission" she added.
"No problem!" I said.
"Great! Hope to see you!" she said.

Just on timing our English teacher came in and we started our classes.

An hour passed and it was now time to see Corbyn as the next subject was Science.

"Finally Science" Corbyn sighed as we walked towards our room.
"I know! Hey I gotta give you something" I said.
"What is it?" he asked, turning way.
"Later" I said and he nodded.

We enter our classroom, obviously eyes on us but we pretend we don't know it.

"So," I zip my bag open. "Do you know Sydnie Avery?" I asked.
"Yeah, she's like from my French or something" he replied.
"Well she gave me three invitations for her Halloween party on Friday" I said, handing him his invitation.
"A," he examined the paper.

I waited for the continuation of his words.

"Sure! I- I mean this is great! A Halloween party isn't bad" he said.

I mentally sighed in relief.

"I know! I just need mom's consent" I frowned.
"Don't worry, I got it" he reasssured.
"You know how strong I am to Aunt Rose" he smirked and I smacked his shoulder.
"Alright, thanks" I smiled.
"You're welcome" he replied and faced the other way.

"Okay i'm gonna tell you more about Jack later but for now keep it a secret okay?" Ashley whispered and I nodded.
"What are you two talking about?" Corbyn asked as he pulled out of the school parking lot.
"Nothing" we replied in-sync.

We chuckled.

"Well that's believable" Corbyn said.
"You going to the party?" I asked Ashley.
"Uh, duh! And it's literally my first highschool party so heck yeah!" she replied.
"Who's throwing it again?" she asked.
"Sydnie" I replied.

Her eyes widen.

"S- Sydnie?" she asked, 'Jack's older sister?' painted on her face.

I nodded.

"No way! Omg i'm so coming to that party you don't even know!" she exclaimed excitedly.
"What's with Sydnie Avery?" Corbyn asked confusedly.
"Nothing" I replied.
"It's just that she's super pretty" Ashley added.

Corbyn shrugged.

"We're here" he said.
"I'm too excited!" Ashley chuckled.
"Relax, it's just Tuesday" I tell her.
"I'm gonna start making my costume my dudes" she announced.
"I'll literally come in a black outfit no joke" Corbyn chuckled.
"I'd wear— I don't know yet" I said.

They dryly laughed.

"See you tomorrow A" Corbyn said.
"Alright, you too" I smiled.
