〈 Amanda 〉

Thursday.

"Miss Aldis?" our professor asked.

I took out of my gaze at my ballpen and shot my head up.

"I- I'm sorry, what was the question?" I asked sleepily.

My sleep last night was very bad. I barely slept, thinking if Corbyn's kiss on my head meant something for him.

Because for me, it did.

"I asked you to solve the problem on the board." he repeated.
"Oh." I breathed out and stood up from my seat, walking towards the board.

I stared at the equation before writing the answer on the board.

"Very good. Keep on track next time, yeah?" I he asked politely with a smile.
"Yeah, i'm sorry" I smiled awkwardly and he nodded before proceeding to the next lesson.

The bell rang and I met Ashley and Corbyn at the cafeteria.

I meant I only met Ashley...

"A, are you listening?" Ashley snapped her fingers on my face.

I shook my head, "Sorry what?"

She sighed.

"You're probably hungry, so take a bite from your burger" she chuckled and so did I.

We took a bite from our burgers before we started talking again.

"I was asking where's Corbyn at" she said.
"That's what I was thinking" I sighed. "Probably with Christina" I mumbled.

She almost choked on her burger which made me quickly pat her back.

"You good?" I asked.

She nodded.

"You're probably right, unfortunately." she said.
"Let's just let him, can't do anything about that right?" I asked.
"Yeah, but it kinda bugs me for some reason. I don't know." she shrugged.
I knit my eyebrows, "Why?" I asked.
"I told you i'm not sure why, but there's just this weird feeling that senses that something's up" she replied, also confused on her answer.

"Yeah, i'll see you later."
"Okay, good luck on your next class!"

Ashley and I looked at each other and shot glances.

We rolled our eyes as Corbyn walked towards our table.

"Hey my dudes, what's poppin'?" he smiled and put his backpack on his lap.
"Nothin' much. How about you, dude?" I asked with a tone.

His face makes a confused expression for a spilt second before chuckling.

"Um, nothing. It was chill." he shrugged.
"Can you stop playing innocent? We saw you with Christina a while ago" Ashley blurted out.
"I told you Ash, let's let him." I put my hand ontop of Ashley's.

She just sighed.

"What's wrong with hanging out with Christina?" Corbyn asked in a raised voice.
"Nothing, I didn't say it was wrong didn't I?" Ashley retort.
"Yeah you didn't but on the way you both act, you guys seem to hate me with her. I get to hang out with people I want. You guys are out of that part of my life, okay?" Corbyn blurted out.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and nodded before walking away from our table.

"A—"
"Cut it, Corbyn. I'm not a part of that life of yours, am I?" I asked and turned around, not facing him.
