Friday.

The day of the party.

My English period just ended and as I walked towards my locker, I heard someone called for my name.

"Hey hey hey!" Sydnie's voice said.
"Oh Sydnie, what's up?" I asked.
"Well, you coming to the party later evening?" she asked, leaning on the locker beside mine.
"Oh yeah! Um, Corbyn-"
"Yeah, Amanda and I are going along with my sister." Corbyn cut me off.

He puts his hand on my shoulder as he spoke to Sydnie.

"W- Well that's great! Um i'll see you guys later, and i'll see you on French Corbyn!" she waved.
"Bye Sydnie." I said.

I sighed.

"What's the matter?" Corbyn asked.
"As to my expectations, she didn't let me when she found out about that mall thing." I rolled my eyes.
"Hey it's okay, she'll surely change her mind afterwards. It's your first party after all" he replied.

I just smiled at him before Corbyn and I entered Science together.

"OMG! It's party time! I'm excited to see your costume Amanda!" Ashley squeals.

I sighed.

"Uh, yeah, same." I replied.
"Why? Oh no, d- did Aunt didn't let you?" she whispered.

I nodded.

"Trust me, you'll come with us on the party in no time, I got you!" she reassured.

Corbyn and I chuckled and just didn't reply.

She and Corbyn went to their place to get the materials for their costumes.

"Okay so, for me i'm not really wishing to win, I just wanna be an angel." she laughed.
"Sure" I chuckled as she handed me her make up bag.
"Hey can I change in your room?" Corbyn asked.
"Yeah sure" I replied.
"Thanks" he said and went upstairs.

Ashley sits down and gives me her costume.

"So here's the angel wings you did for me, and here's the expensive-looking top I have" she said.

I took it from her and helped her to put it on.

As I fixed her costume, mom comes in the house.

"Hey Ashley, what are you doing here?" she asked, putting down her groceries on the kitchen table.
"Oh, I was just asking Amanda to do my make up for the party later. We'll leave at around six if that's okay" Ashley replied.
"Sure, if you need anything i'll be on my room" mom said and we nodded.

Mom stepped upstairs and we heard the door in her room close.

I silently squealed and hugged Ashley with a smile.

"Thank you Ash! You don't know how happy I am right now!" I whisper-exclaimed.
"I told you I got this" she flipped her hair.

I laughed.

"Okay, let's just do my costume again" she said.

I then continued to fix her costume and soon did her hair.

"Okay so I actually want to let my hair down just like this" she tells me.
"You sure? You'll look ten times cuter if you'd put them in buns" I suggested.
"Nah, I think this one's okay" she replied.
"Your choice" I smiled and got her make up bag.

Ashley tells me to make her make up look natural as possible, so that's what I did.

"Look to the mirror, i'll get my things now since you're ready" I said.

She nodded and I went upstairs to my room.

I knocked at my door thrice before it opens.

"How do I look?" he spun around.

He was wearing the alien costume he bought.

He then did dances which made me bursted out laughing.

"CORBYN! THIS COSTUME IS ADORABLE, OH MY GOSH!" I squealed and cupped my mouth.
"Where the heck did you find this?! This is so funny, God" I chuckled and examined his costume.
"We were literally together when we bought this, Amanda" he chuckled.
"Yeah I know but like, it's still new to my sight" I replied.
"You good? I'm getting my costume, excuse me" I said.

He moved a bit to the side as I got my costume.

"Let me see" he chuckled.
"No i'm not! You'll have to wait" I teased and hid my cloth.
"Fine fine, i'll see you downstairs" he nodded.

I nodded and locked the door, letting out a sigh.

The costume I was wearing was already finished so I took off my clothes and slowly put it on.

I had to look at the mirror for a few times before finally doing my hair.

My hair was on two braids.

I looked at the mirror one last time.

"I look pretty as a Hunger Game character." I put my hands to my hips and nodded.
"I'm quite proud of myself" I mumbled before letting out a chuckle.

I exit my room, holding my make up bag.

"I wanna see Amanda's- oh my gosh." Ashley cupped her mouth.

Corbyn stares at me as I stepped downstairs.

I was dressed as Katniss Everdeen, or Jennifer Lawrence from Hunger Games.

I also had fake bows and arrows at my back which I did by myself as well.

"Woah, you didn't tell me you were gonna dress as Katniss, I should've dressed as Josh." he chuckled, but quickly stopped.
"I have to do my make up still!" I said.
"I'll help, I have nothing to do honestly" Ashley offered.
"Okay, thanks" I smiled.

As Ashley put on my simple make up, I saw Corbyn at the corner of my eye.

"What are you staring at?" I chuckled, trying my best to look at him sideways.
"Amanda Everdeen." he replied.

I laughed, and so did Ashley.

"What?" he chuckled.
"Nothing" I slightly shook my head.

After a while, it was finally six pm and I went upstairs to mom's bedroom.

I knocked thrice before opening it.

"Hey mom, um A- Ashley and Corbyn and I are going out now. Thank you for letting me, means a lot" I smiled uneasily.
"Sure honey. Keep me posted, stay away from alcohol!" she reminded.
"Yes mom!" I replied as I went downstairs. "Love you!"

a/n: to help you out on imagining their costumes ('cause i'm not a fan of putting photos in books), corbyn's costume is the costume he wore this halloween, ashley's is anna's (daniel's sister) costume and picture amanda however you want as katniss everdeen :))
