The sun finally arised in Zootopia after a night in which Vol worked on the case of the terrorists as fast as he could, finding relevant data on them, but couldn't specify it due to the little that is known about them. Even so, he was able to do more than expected before going to sleep in the apartment. Arriving in the morning, Vol went a different way than Nick and Judy to fill in more information and refine the details before delivering the report to Bogo. With a meal in between, Vol finished and delivered the result to the buffalo, surprising him with such dedication. After spending some time with Nick and Judy, he went in search of Wolford in the afternoon, who was waiting for him sitting on a bench, as they had agreed the day before, using his cell phone. He came over and greeted him.
"Hey buddy, ready to investigate the Rainforest district?"
"More than you think, foxy." The wolf smiled after looking up from his phone.
Vol smiled back. "Okay, let's take the patrol car. But first, I'll tell my partners about this." He winked at the wolf, who responded with a nod. The blue fox approached them. "All set, Wolford and I will go investigate the case of the death of Ryan's biological parents."
"Be careful. Today we have to patrol." Judy answered, with a slight hint of concern in her voice. "Do I tell Ryan about your case?"
Vol shrugged. "Sure, no problem. Say to him that I thought I saw something weird about his parents' death and I think there was something else."
"Basically, the same thing that Mark Cougar thought." Nick remembered as he took a sip of his coffee. "Be very careful, you can get into a tricky path, mate."
"Don't worry, guys." Vol smiled. "I'll almost be safer there than you with the terrorist threat."
"Maybe, but we're not softies." Nick replied laughing.
Judy looked at him with even more concerned eyes after his partner mentioned the panther. "Try to be safe."
Vol looked at the two of them. "Nothing's going to happen to me, really. Take care of yourselves and... if it's not a bother... take care of Ryan too." He lowered his head slightly.
Nick thought of something to boost his spirits. "How demanding! He's asking a lot from us because we're partners!" He gave him a smirk, to which Vol responded with a laugh.
"So whiny! Didn't you say you're not soft?"
Judy showed her smile too. "We'll take care of him, don't worry. I hope Wolford and you are doing well."
The blue fox nodded. "We'll do well." Deep down, he wanted the results to be positive. "Be careful. I hope you don't have to endure too many problems."
After saying goodbye, he went with Wolford and they started on the way to the car. It was still early in the afternoon and it was a little hot, but without any difficulty for the two police colleagues, besides that it was generally raining in the place where they were going to investigate, adapted for the animals that lived there. Vol guided the path they had to take until they reached the spot and looking for a place to park the car without disturbing potential drivers who might pass by, but close enough to investigate the accident site. They found a perfect place and Wolford left the car, indicating Vol to get out of the vehicle.
"Time to investigate this place. Let's hope everything stays as it was."
Vol looked around. "It'll be, trust me." He walked towards the area of the accident, he remembered the place in the photo. He examined the ground and where the kangaroos had the accident. "The guardrail is repaired, obviously... There are skid marks that weren't erased. The painted shoulder line has a black mark. I don't see anything conclusive as to whether they fell or were pushed."
